saintkid wrote: ↑Sun 29 Jul 2018 12:43pmRichardson's post match commentary is an embarrassment to the club and even more to the supporters. The 'not taking chances' comment has been done to death. If he stays on. we will definitely hear this for years to come and ffs it is now impossible to hear and bear his time wasting dribble. So who is responsible Richardson? Why don't you look at yourself you clown of a coach? You have had several seasons AND pre-seasons to get their kicking right yet this year their scoring has gone even worse than last year, if that was ever possible! If it is the players fault purely (which I doubt), then your list management is completely substandard and you should be sacked. If it is your coaching and skills support team, which surely has to take a fair portion of the blame by now, then you and the other duds should have been sacked long ago!! You have had ample time (more than any other coach) to show what you can do and our club administration made the situation even worse by extending your contract without a performance based justification! Now our abysmal administrators don't having the balls due to debt issues to end this prolonged agony we the supporters see 'week in week out' by sending you marching. If the football department was properly run in the first place, they wouldn't have needed to bring in Simon Lethlean who, he himself, caused enough inner turmoil and dissent within AFL headquarters. In my honest opinion, his appointment is just another example that demonstrates how unprofessional and a laughing stock of the AFL competition of club has become!Teflon wrote: ↑Sun 29 Jul 2018 2:26amThe travesty is this board (and I fear) Lethlean are goingbthe easier path in blaming assistants to save their own ass, by all means sack and bring in some talented assistants but F*** Alan off too

Oh FFS. Big week at Moorabbin. About the tenth time I’ve heard you say that. Just another version of Richardson’s “we’ll learn from that and come back strongly”. Except they don’t. You’ve swallowed the party line hook, line and sinker. Tony is referring to the announcement of a new list manager.
The PR strategy of Richo is to use Elshaugh as the scapegoat in an effort buy himself a couple of extra seasons in the job.
If he blames recruiting, maybe people will continue to be fooled that he is not a complete numpty.

Jason's is right - Our ball movement must be substandard if we are only getting 60 inside 50s against a likely top 4 teamBringBackMadDog wrote: ↑Sun 29 Jul 2018 8:05pmWho we kick to and where they are???? II watched a heap of games this weekend and majority of forward 50 entries from top 8 teams was a long bomb forward or a mongrel kick to a leading player with no space ..... of course there were a few exceptions
Our forwardline currently is top of the pile in terms of dysfunctionality due to injury and inexperience and our backline has struggled at times with injuries and suspensions to key backs Brown Carlisle Webster and Roberton but on the bright we have got games into plenty of younger players and they will be all the better for the experience.
It's been a shite and disappointing year for sure but we not are as far off as everyone thinks and history has shown that clubs can turn fortunes around in a blink of an eye especially if blessed with team stability which we have had none whatsoever this season.
I am as frustrated as any supporter but there is always a light at the end of that tunnel and this year just may be a warped godsend that will set us on the path to glorious salvation

Let’s be serious they probably don’t even take into account “junk time” entries
When the game is there to be won against a top pressure side we have been found badly wanting
THATS the measuring stick
I thought Lethleabs comments about how we “could’ve done more or acted quicker” to stem some of the bleeding against top sides in recent games was interesting
But equally , we ALL know he’s going the “sack assistants keep Alan” path which I think is ignoring the problem tbh
Actually could make matters worse IF Alan is as big a dud as I suspect, we bring in capable assistants who engineer a game plan and development program that sees us improve .....they’ll probably extend Alan for 5 years such is our Boards corporate BS incompetence
“Yeah….nah””

Re: Sack the coach Tomorrow!
The GWS game was an example of what I think Simon Lethlean is referring to when he says we could have done more in games to stop the bleeding. We actually lost the game in a short run against us in the third. In many games this year we have been playing well and when a team gets a run on we haven't had players that can step up with a counter strong arm. Roo was the man who led in that department for so long with this young team and so it makes sense to me when Simon claims we need more from our 50 to 100 game players. Aren't young teams renowned for inconsistency and not putting in for 4 quarters. On field leadership and more high end talent, we need more.
