Re: Ben "Dover" Dixon
Think Ben should be giving anything he was paid back to the club.
He has been an abject faiure imho.

Surely Simon <edited by mods and warning issued for demeaning a Saints official> won't invite Ben back next season.CarlD wrote: ↑Sat 28 Jul 2018 9:21pmOn that basis he should be paying the Saints.Gershwin wrote: ↑Sat 28 Jul 2018 9:16pm
afl.com (today):
"The Saints set shot scoring accuracy of 53 per cent is the lowest of any side in the AFL and seven per cent below the league average."
This has been one of the major disappointments of the season for me and I hope Dixon is paid according to results.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Ben "Dover" Dixon
Not sure why Dixon was employed in the first place. Not a fantastic record of goal kicking at the hawks, certainly not as good as saints stars Milne and Gherig who both kicked twice as many goals as Dixon over long careers. IMO Milne would have been a good coach because he was one of the first players to do dribble kicks, bananas etc and those types of kicks are used frequently now. Saints players have trouble kicking goals with drop punts from 35metres out. Even throwing good money at someone like Goddard as a skills coach ( especially kicking) would have been better.supersaints wrote: ↑Sun 29 Jul 2018 4:38am Dixon is a dud.... send him packing seriously we've gone backwards

Re: Ben "Dover" Dixon
Another quote from Dixon back in 2017:
“Any club which doesn’t have proper goal kicking programs, I have got no doubt whatsoever it would deliver unbelievable results,” Dixon said.
“It is the area of the game that continually gets overlooked.
“It is a marginal gain that can either help you win or lose games of footy, cost you a top-four or top-eight berth and cost players their careers.
“People can blame it on fatigue and on rule changes or the state of play but ultimately good teams and good clubs put the right program in place to eliminate the margin for error.”
Hope he was employed on a pay for results basis.

Re: Ben "Dover" Dixon
Unfortunately it has been the St Kilda Way evidently for a while.....
Hire a guy to be kicking coach despite no track record in that area.
Hire a development coach to be head coach.
Hire a lawyer cum bean counter to be in charge of our list. (Result our player payments plummet, but you get a list that is based on bargain basement buys).
Recruit an endless stream of HBFers and hope that they can turn into mids.
Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
