It was a legal baulk of the post or a tap/palm/push...because he's not a Saints player

Went from hand to foot, seems fair enough?

Re: Jack Higgins ‘goal’
yep agree with that... threw it on the boot
his aim was always kick it
i recon its a goal... would be nipicking to call it a throw
If he doesnt get his boot on it ok, throw.. but as it stands.. GOTW!

Can't argue with that comment, we are shite.
The Saints are under review, will it make any difference to the underachievers ?

Re: Jack Higgins ‘goal’
He was not in possession of the ball when he went behind the post. It was a throw.

Re: Jack Higgins ‘goal’
I'm a fan of letting that go. Probably a throw, but he has intentions of kicking it.

Re: Jack Higgins ‘goal’
If you count that as a throw a heap of double grab marks need to be called as throws.
To be a throw he has to be deemed to have given away possession otherwise it is dropping the ball.
If you drop the ball and accidentally kick the ball before it hits the ground it is deemed a kick.

So should we have drafted him instead of Clark or Coffield ?DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Sat 28 Jul 2018 9:36pmYes I agree. I said that at the time of the draft, The kid won the equivalent of the Brownlow for u 18 and he west at pick 19. Tigers would be killing themselves with laughter

Re: Jack Higgins ‘goal’
It a good debate to have but I would have picked him over Coffield. Not saying Coffield wont be a gun, he looks like he will be but we need some one who will kick goals rather than another HBF. Jack Higgins was the best at U18 for a reason and I would have picked him and Hunter clark as Hunter is already in the midfield which we need . Coffield will be an awesome defender and I am not unhappy with him but we have so many HBF and no small up forward that is kicking goals like Higgins.Gershwin wrote: ↑Sat 28 Jul 2018 9:39pmSo should we have drafted him instead of Clark or Coffield ?DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Sat 28 Jul 2018 9:36pmYes I agree. Re: Jack Higgins ‘goal’
I remember Carl Ditterich was the most hopeless set shot kick for goal.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Sat 28 Jul 2018 7:59pm He throw it up but he did so with the intention to kick it but technically its a throw.
Instead of releasing the ball to fall under gravity or directing the ball to his foot he would lift his forearms and hands before releasing the ball.
The ball would initially rise upwards before falling towards his boot.
He was never called for throwing.
A true gentleman he was only reported 19 times for not being polite to opponents.

Re: Jack Higgins ‘goal’
Can't agree. We have too many smalls already. Steven, Gresham, Sinclair, Long, Lonie. Can't go in with so many (plus Higgins). We are beaten by big-bodied mid-fielders. Higgins is good but not for us.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Sat 28 Jul 2018 9:49pmIt a good debate to have but I would have picked him over Coffield.
