For everyone who thinks pace doesnt matter and it's all about accurate kicking...

You are are 5 years behind.

Accurate kicking should be a given.

Now you to be fast AND kick accurately.

Otherwise forget top 6.

 wow what amazing insight you have

Who would have thought pace + skill could be matched together and make such a difference to a team's fortune

Thanks for shedding light on this new finding

Ben Long, Coffield and Clark all fit that profle.
Hopefully our 1st pick will be elite in both.

We've lacked genuine pace for the last 15 years. Even under GT and RL we didn't have mids with explosive pace. It's nothing new but welcome to the conversation. Better late than never.

I don’t know that AR has figured it out...

Hmmm, let’s play Weller again

Lonie is in the team mainly for his pace

Footy is an entertainment industry. It's really funny when Lonie runs fast at an opposition player when he tries to tackle them and just bounces off them like a pinball

Ben Long is one of the IF hopes for next year (If A, B, C, D, E happen, we'll improve rapidly and show 2018 as an aberration)

Nothing faster than precision ball movement. You only need one or two lines breakers... If you move the ball with precision and play on you look very fast.

Indeed...quick and accurate ball movement will beat leg speed everyday of the week.

It's not so much our pace with ball in hand, it's when we don't have the ball our players jog around the park. The Melbourne game was different, we were running better to receive the ball in this game.

Couple of other games we have done this for periods, but have the wind taken from us by umpires and we go in to our shells. I've seen this many times this year, but nobody says stuff it, let's keep at it, we slump.

No real leaders atm. Give Jake a crack at captain and watch him blossom with the responsibility

Good post overall. Not so sure on Jack for captain though.
