Re: Team v Giants
People seem to overlook that Freeman was taken at No 10 in his draft year.
That may have been a long time ago but development wise he has had roughly the same game time as Clark and Coffield, only they have played seniors.
We should expect no more of him than those two.
Richo has made it clear that he wants to see Freeman go flat out before selecting him.
He is suggesting that Freeman is holding back to protect himself from injury.
I hope Freeman makes it into the seniors this year and gets a new contract but lets not expect him to win us a premiership in his first game.

no ace, he's the greatest no. 10 draft in history. he will absolutely kill it when he plays, whenever, where ever. this is an irrefutable fact. don't you read?
forget every other numpty we've drafted or traded in over the last decade, this one we got right, just the coach holding him back.

Mav, Brown, Gilbert and Lonie to really help the saints win the game and hopefully make finalsspert wrote: ↑Thu 26 Jul 2018 10:33pm Lonie did well defensively in his last game, and fought hard many times to keep the ball in the forward half, which is what any coach wants from forwards- something our forwards rarely do. I reckon Armo didn't do what the coach wanted defensively against Richmond- our work off the ball was pretty poor, as it has been all season, and Armo I think hasn't got the stamina now to go hard defensively all day, and basically, there is more long term upside with Acres in that onball role.. Mav? dunno what he 's doing, but he needs to be getting goals while he is in the forward line.
I've seen Freeman at Sandy a few times, and I don't think he has the speed we need in the midfield- a hard working mid in the VFL, but where does he fit in? His hammy issues will limit his running burst ability. Dunstan and Ross are slow, and ordinary with their footskills, and we don't need another similar type of player in the seniors. The writing may be on the wall- though I hope he gets a chance.
GWS are a strong team, so might as well put our strongest team in, as our season is stuffed, but we don't want the youngsters getting flogged.
