Re: Team v Giants
Our backline is too slow and offers no rebound.
I wish Geary would stop racking up backwards kicks and handballs and play purely as a stopper which he is good at. His ball use is so defensive and while his efficiency is high his meters gained would be very very poor.
Gilbert, Brown & Geary shouldn't all play in the same side.. Especially not when Mckenzie also plays since his disposal is not flash

Re: Team v Giants
Lonie again?.....Please no!!!!
Richo's obsession with him reminds me of of Lyon's with McQualter and Eddy. I still believe it cost us 2 premierships.
Armo and Rice a bit stiff. Several worse than them last week.
And no one did much at Sandy.

Oh my F@#king god.
Lonie again. And Weller still in the team. Play Paton at least, he has been an emergency so many times. Just blows my mind
On a plus Coffield back with Acres with Brown shoring up the back. Not sure why we need Gilbo and Brown as neither are quick

Re: Team v Giants
I've seen him cough up the pill on countless occasions this year - reckon his disposal efficiency wouldn't be great. He also drops marks a lot. Geary is cooked.Viscount Jeremiah wrote: ↑Thu 26 Jul 2018 7:39pm Our backline is too slow and offers no rebound.

Must be trying to get value out of Lonie and Weller
Clark looked like he needed a break a few weeks back - happy to see Coffield back in

Hmmm.... Some good some bad. so can't really decide.
Can anyone seriously tell me
1. what Freeman needs to do to get a game?
2. How Mav continues to get a game?
3. And why aren't we looking towards the future? As there are some kids performing in the VFL who can't get a game. I'm baffled!!!

Clark's season finished (managed).
Coffield was dropped (managed) and has not made it back until now.

Re: Team v Giants
Lonie did well defensively in his last game, and fought hard many times to keep the ball in the forward half, which is what any coach wants from forwards- something our forwards rarely do. I reckon Armo didn't do what the coach wanted defensively against Richmond- our work off the ball was pretty poor, as it has been all season, and Armo I think hasn't got the stamina now to go hard defensively all day, and basically, there is more long term upside with Acres in that onball role.. Mav? dunno what he 's doing, but he needs to be getting goals while he is in the forward line.
I've seen Freeman at Sandy a few times, and I don't think he has the speed we need in the midfield- a hard working mid in the VFL, but where does he fit in? His hammy issues will limit his running burst ability. Dunstan and Ross are slow, and ordinary with their footskills, and we don't need another similar type of player in the seniors. The writing may be on the wall- though I hope he gets a chance.
GWS are a strong team, so might as well put our strongest team in, as our season is stuffed, but we don't want the youngsters getting flogged.
