Re: Sack the Coach (revisited)
AR is coaching a team with a multiple of average ruckmen, a multiple of average inside midfielders, a multiple of half back flankers, a multiple of average smalls (except for Gresham)--- and a total lack of skilled outside midfielders/runners.
A team, which when Steven is tagged out of the game, has no outside run at all.
Apart from the random recruiting - we also have had to deal with injuries, etc..
Unless AR was responsible for the recruiting, I can't blame him for where we are at, at the moment - and I don't think a coaching change will fix anything.
We definitely need better recruiters. We are where we're at because of poor recruiting - we needed classy outside midfielders, but kept recruiting average inside midfielder after average inside midfielder, instead.

Re: Sack the Coach (revisited)
As per most I think he is not cut out for being an AFL coach. I don't buy the we only have average players excuse simply because it is up to the coach to get the best out of the players and if you have an average coach you get average players. He doesn't have game plans that suit the players or that evolve with what is happening on the field.
We fell ass backwards over the line against one of the worst teams going around so the stay of execution will be for a few weeks. When Melbourne towel us up and then Port Adelaide the media will be back for his head. I hope we are in talks with other coaches especially Clarkson as a plan B. Something Richo doesn't

Hopefully the club are currently trying to attract replacements at present.
Surely he would be more attractive to work with for Free Agents than the current.

No idea, but was tigers development coach and i think current midfield coach, so would be a solid pick up. probably also fits the "surprise packet" descriptionMr Magic wrote: ↑Tue 19 Jun 2018 2:27pmAndrew McQualter?tony74 wrote: ↑Tue 19 Jun 2018 2:00pmUnfortunately you’re all wrong. Re: Sack the Coach (revisited)
When the head coach has been around for 5 years maybe he has some say in the list, wouldn't you think? Found an article which gives evidence that perhaps our current list is exactly what Richo wants...samoht wrote: ↑Tue 19 Jun 2018 12:36pm AR is coaching a team with a multiple of average ruckmen, a multiple of average inside midfielders, a multiple of half back flankers, a multiple of average smalls (except for Gresham)--- and a total lack of skilled outside midfielders/runners.

And you're a female. Nearly pissed myself myself laughing when you posted that.
That puts a completely different light on your past mocking posts.
Bahahahaha
Richo is not going anywhere if the current board has any say in it.

Why do you have a problem with females?
You keep bringing it up - is their an underlying issue of Freudian nature we need to know about?
What an odd creature...

Re: Sack the Coach (revisited)
I want to see a challenge to the president and board- this current crowd have parked the Saints bus up some dirt road instead of barrelling along the highway. They put the wheels in motion which saw various dud appointments including AR as coach- and the coach has failed badly. If the club want's bums on seats next season, want families to buy memberships, want's kids to pull on Saints jumpers, then some big changes and some big sacrifices will need to be made at the end of this season.

Without being one of these grandstand heroes that declares war on people's professional ability without knowing the actual ins and outs of what they're actually employed to do....
....after 8 years at the club, the decision makers better have a very good explanation as to why Kingsley is adding value if he stays.
From the outside, there's certainly no evidence to suggest that he is.

However it can't be worse than it is now.
But I agree, sacking the wrong people just for the sake of it would be a disaster.
But clearly, what's in place now does not work. So whomever is the King maker at the club right now, better f****** get it right.

If the assistant coaches are going then (due to his contract) richo stays another year (or two). Who would want to come to a club as an assistant coach when the senior coach could get sacked in 12 months time and all the upheaval that would cause?rodgerfox wrote: ↑Wed 25 Jul 2018 10:56pmAgreed.longtimesaint wrote: ↑Wed 25 Jul 2018 10:52pm There is the small problem of having someone better to replace them with.

Re: Sack the Coach (revisited)
We have a chance to bring someone in as Senior Assistant on big money if we re-jig the assistants contacts and roles.
This senior assistant should be told that they will become Senior Coach in 2020 and Richo will become Coaching Director.
For 2019 and 2020 they should work together to rebuild the game plan based on the current list and changing laws.
I would be appointing Brett Ratten as that senior assistant. Chopped at Carlton too early. Been brilliant at Hawthorn.

Why on earth do you want to keep Richardson? What do you see in him? Appears to me, and from what I’ve been told, to lack leadership. He’s had five years and we are going backwards. Keep him as Coaching Director??????.?.?BackFromUSA wrote: ↑Wed 25 Jul 2018 11:20pm We have a chance to bring someone in as Senior Assistant on big money if we re-jig the assistants contacts and roles.
