The positives were that I left at half time and are now home in a warm bed.

More relevantly, the great amount of money raised for MRV.

I thought Clark again showed poise. Will be a good 'un.

Gresham now standing out as the class player in the team. A mate of mine, big Tigers fan, reckons Jade is a gun- the only one we have.

Marshall does some silly things, but gives the impression he might become a very good big man.

Gresham is earning the number 4 nicely.

Gresh is class... need to find a way to get the ball to him more
Marshall has demonstrated he needs to stay in the team
Armo continues to prove the doubters wrong
Clarke will be a gun... like this kid, he’s daring

We did okay in the ruck

Really struggling to get any more

It’s probably not going to take off, but I have started to call Gresh ‘Bumper’

It is from the old bumper stickers ‘s*** Happens’

Because when Bumper gets the ball , s*** happens.

Gresham is our best player IMO...actually believes in himself and wants to have a crack.

I really cant help but lay the problem at the feet of the coaches. The players are so confused and disordered out there.... its not round 1, they should at least know where to run, where to kick , where to defend a free kick.

Leadership is our #1 problem by the length of the straight.

Geary, not the answer. As good a bloke and courageous a footballer as he is....you cant have a captain setting the tone with turnover kicks or reverting to safe little chips backward.

Here’s a positive.

Surely Acres and maybe Freeman will get a game next week on the back of such a lousy performance.

Whack Acres in the guts and see what he can do.

We won the hitouts 38 to 27 and Hickey had 24 of them and they were close together possession wise.
Hickey had some impact around the ground in addition to being competitive in the centre and his game would have looked better had he kicked that goal.

Your bias is showing quite glaringly.

Tonight’s game from Hickey was head and shoulders above any game Longer has played this year and I think all but one last year too.

I don’t rate Hickey and still think neither he or Billy are the answer but for me, the debate was well and truly settled tonight.

Marshall stays ins as key forward/utility and secondary ruck.
Hickey is the other ruck until we get someone better

Longer is way off the pace. No amount of “protecting the players”, “flying the flag”, “bullocking” etc makes up for his lack of impact to date.
That stuff is not a substitute for actual influence in a game.

As it stands right now, Longer is a poor man’s Trent Knobel

Gresham good and will get better, no doubt. Backs himself
Clarke will be very good
Marshall will also be very good, leave him in with Hickey

IN. Acres & Freeman
OUT. Take your pick

I hear you, utterly pitiful, it all started from him. I hope that's the last game Hickey plays for St Kilda.

I've got a question Stoney, how much shorter than Hickey is Josh Caddy?

Richo message all but guarantees Paton and acres playing next week if they don't suck for Sandy. Plus Webster back as well.
I don't feel too bad as Richmond are a better team and it showed. They had players ready to Go on the turnovers nd score quicklyr and we didn't. They played better in front of goals in the mids and back. Just a better team

Simple and accurate assessment.

Although I think we would have been far more competitive if Longer had played and Ross played in defence.

Hickey is certainly trying, and did a couple of things around the ground, and should have kicked a goal. However, he needs some boost juice or something because especially early when the game was on the line he was badly beaten in the effective hit outs, and on quite a few occasions provided a very insipid contest, probably Lonie would have done better. He got 24 hitouts, but where did they go? I saw a couple to advantage from boundary throw ins, but that is about all. Nankervis was far more effective, and aggressive. Marshall was better than Hickey.

Fire Up Tom! You must improve! You have the ability (I think). Debate well and truly settled - probably - bring back Longer, for all his faults, he has much better synergy with mids, and provides a contest every time!
