Channel 7 Commentary
Nearly made me sick last night.
Continuous wank about Charlie & Crippa and how great and how exciting and "gee isn't Fisher a player" and "wow Paddy Dow".
Anybody would have thought they were all in love with Carlton and that Carlton were in front and extending their lead.
Any mention of the saints was purely incidental and mostly condescending.
and the bruhaha when Harry Mckay ran away fromn a barely functioning Carlisle and kicked.......... a point.
Perhaps it will be Sam Pang's "Point of the Week" on The Front Bar this week.
And then BT whacking Jake in the ribs after the game. Brilliant.
Can't wait for next week with Dusty and Jack and Alex and Cotch. Bruce may not survive.

Desperate to keep Carlton supporters from changing the channel to the tennis or movie.

Glad you posted that. Watched the replay and I threw up in my mouth.Saintlester wrote: ↑Sat 14 Jul 2018 12:05pm Nearly made me sick last night.

That wuckfit Bruccy who regularly creams his pants over lesser lights stated that Jack Steven whilst a good player was no champion.
Yes he is Bruce, three B & F confirms it.
It also confirms that you don't know s*** from sugar.
The half time wank from three current footballers who raved over three Blues players while not mentioning one Sainter was nearly as bad.

Re: Channel 7 Commentary
Being a stats nerd ( and a racing and Aths person ) I like Bruce, and am prepared to put up with his exuberance. At least he knows who the players are.
Brian Taylor in my opinion is an idiot. He has led a charmed football existence. He is the second worst player ever to kick 100 in a season ( I think he just had Larry Donohue covered , but Capper was a way better player than BT ) . He got his 100th on us in the final game of the season, with Peter Cameron gifting him free kicks to get him there. Now he gets a plum calling slot, whilst having absolutely no idea what is going on or who the players are ( at one point on the replay he mistakes Webster for Phillips , as one example).
To be fair though, his contribution to the commentary far outweighs that of Carey. Great player, but Duck is to commentary what Royce Hart was to coaching,

The official afl highlights showed the McKay point. f****** ridiculous. It will be in their stupid top ten of the round. Just s***
I didn’t see the game but kept tabs at work and watched the said highlights. Seemed like the boys kept at it and played some good footy

Re: Channel 7 Commentary
Fox Footy was worse. David King and Dermott Brereton... Pure hatred for St Kilda. They gave us nothing. No chance.
Dermie had the job of going into the winners rooms and couldn't have been less interested. So much so in fact, when he was asked who was playing the Milne role during the singing of the song, he just shrugged with a stupid look on his face. Much to the amusement of Dunstall and Co. in the studio who had a good old laugh about him not giving a stuff what was going on in there.
As a paid "professional," he should put bias aside. Its his job, and his employer should let him know.

Re: Channel 7 Commentary
Listening to the channel seven commentators you would think Carlton had won with all the rave reviews about their players.

Re: Channel 7 Commentary
It does get my back up, but Carlton are struggling at the moment they need all the help they can get. I almost feel a bit sorry for them ........ NAH!........ Also I've never really thought the media have warmed to us ever, even when we were good. Just the way it is for us. It will, I hope, one day make the Premiership even sweeter. I am delusional I know.

David King over-extending himself again.
Just curious but for a nano second I wondered how much DK might get paid.
'You know it's not really fair that ex-players get all the commentary jobs' - loosely attributed to George Costanza.
Hang in there Sainters

Re: Channel 7 Commentary
Just watching the full replay from 7's broadcast.
Not sure if Lingy is the footy brains behind a graphic they did at 3 quarter time or whether one of the seven producers was behind it, but Lingy was highlighting senior players missing from both sides in our match Friday night.
For us they had Brown, Bruce, Paddy, Robbo, Seb, Koby and drumroll....Nathan Wright!!
What about Ben Long and Blake Acres imbeciles!?! Our senior coach also stormed into the channel seven production van and made a 'strong' case for Billy Longer

Luke Hodge on Gameday named 5 Carlton players who were missing due to injury. Two of them (Marchbank and Silvagni) actually played.Scollop wrote: ↑Sun 15 Jul 2018 3:45pm Just watching the full replay from 7's broadcast.

Re: Channel 7 Commentary
The print press was exactly the same. It was all about Carlton's woes and next to nothing about our victory.

Re: Channel 7 Commentary
Blues may have overtaken us as the second most irrelevant club in the comp.
Seriously. When was the last time they did anything good?
That Fraser brown tackle?
That was bloody years ago. 1999.

Fair point. I think our injury list is just as “impressive “saynta wrote:A different Silvagni.
