Re: Jimmy Webster
Like many, the comment from Jaxon should be taken as a reflection on the dearth of A grade talent than an aspersion on Jimmy. He has some elite attributes- to use a word from the current lexicon, but courage and hardness is not enough. Should he develop his decision making under pressure he might become a worthy B&F winner. Courage and hardness should not be enough to get you there. It was laughable that Steve Baker was a B & F (equal) winner - distorted value placed by some on those very same attributes.

Re: Jimmy Webster
This sums up Jack Steven beautifully and he’s won 3 B&F’s, so WTF???6621104 wrote: ↑Fri 13 Jul 2018 11:39am Like many, the comment from Jaxon should be taken as a reflection on the dearth of A grade talent than an aspersion on Jimmy. People want to crucify Webster about his disposal but Steven is our turnover king and is also a one way runner who refuses to chase.
Re: Jimmy Webster
It is pretty clear that Jaxons is actually Brandon White or Dan McKenzie!

Re: Jimmy Webster
IMO , Webster is a one of the saints better players and I think a few might be on his back because he has made a few turnovers of late and has not been at his best. I am sure if he has a top game shortly he will have turned the corner and will finish off the year strongly. Would get a game at most other clubs.

Re: Jimmy Webster
Been a little bit busy so just catching up on this, but I totally agree with Jaxons on Webster.
Honestly, he is a poor decision maker and not a great kick. I couldn't believe Lethlean said he was close to A-grade. Not even close.
His game has improved a little but no more. Given all the hype, if we got a good offer at trade week, I'd snap their hand off. We have 15 players on our list like him.

Watched him closely again tonight, hits some kicks well, and showed courage on that spoil, but makes so many errors.
I think he is a very sloppy AFL player.

Rice, McKenzie and Coffield will all be very good players.
Newnes is also a genuine half back who is played out of position, and Brandon White has got all the tools, the rest is up to him.
The list is very unbalanced, far too many half back flankers and small forwards.

Re: Jimmy Webster
There are half back flankers and half back flankers.
None of these mentioned above are elite playmakers in any sense as in a Johannisen or Houli mould.
Same deal with small forwards.
That is what we really need in addition to two mids and a decent ruck.

I think all we need to do is recruit 22 class players to turn our team into a quality side.

This post purporting to be from Jaxons seems very fishy.
Have you or someone close to you lost a job associated with he club recently.

Re: Jimmy Webster
I'd be trying to off-load Webster and particularly Newnes to get back into this draft.
Replaceable with others on our list and reckon Newnes has hit his ceiling.
Webster still has upside so would possibly add to his trade appeal.
Newnes butchers the ball and l think has no real feel for the game.
We need to get back into the draft and we don't have too many attractive options.
These two may help.

Re: Jimmy Webster
Is there a stat for reading the play? Is there a stat for being outnumbered in contests? Is there a stat for covering your team mates arse?
These stats might help in understanding what it's like to play as a defender in a team down the arse end of the ladder.
I think Jimmy's a keeper.
