Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
I've run out of patience for the kid. He oozes talent, but it all goes to waste because he plays with no heart. Just look at his face; he doesn't want to play for the St.Kilda Football Club.
I reckon he could fetch us some exciting talent come trading time and providing we find the right suitor.
Ideas?

The bombres will give us jobe watson, 15c, and a dose of herpes, if we beg and promise to throw in a few sweeteners. The AFL have already approved this deal, and are throwing in next years Brownlow.

How about convincing me otherwise, instead of just being dismissive

You don’t need convincing all you need to do is open your eyes and watch how he has played the last three weeksSainternist wrote: ↑Sun 08 Jul 2018 3:42pm How about convincing me otherwise, instead of just being dismissive

Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
I watched him yesterday. His body language is one that shows a lot of dejection. He did a few good things, but looks well below par. Did you notice how a number of his disposals were pretty careless? He had very little composure and played hot potato with no real compass.longtimesaint wrote: ↑Sun 08 Jul 2018 3:55pmYou don’t need convincing all you need to do is open your eyes and watch how he has played the last three weeksSainternist wrote: ↑Sun 08 Jul 2018 3:42pm How about convincing me otherwise, instead of just being dismissive

I actually agree that he doesn’t want to be at St. Kilda.Sainternist wrote: ↑Sun 08 Jul 2018 2:27pm I've run out of patience for the kid. He oozes talent, but it all goes to waste because he plays with no heart. Just look at his face; he doesn't want to play for the St.Kilda Football Club.

Him only signing a two year contract last year was pretty telling I would have thought.

Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
The reason most of the good young players only sign for two years is financial.
They will be able to command a bigger contract when they have had another two years development.
Same went for Kelly, Shiel and de Goey among others.

Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
At the risk of taking responsibility away from the kid...
I just don't see the point in trading out a player like Billings to trade in a player like Billings who we hope will deliver on his potential.
Until we fix the development issue... this is all moot

So long as it is not a deliberate ploy to allow him to get to Collingwood. Been done before.

Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
Definitely was not one of our better players yesterday. He had 3-4 kicks smothered easily because there is no urgency in his play. Goes missing when the heat's on in games. Seriously, watch all the game properly again. Sainternist, you are absolutely correct. Billings was far from one of our few better players yesterday.

I could easily name 14 who were worse than Billingssaintkid wrote: ↑Sun 08 Jul 2018 6:24pmDefinitely was not one of our better players yesterday. Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
No way should St Kilda trade Jack billings - over my dead body!!
I've expressed my views on the post about Paddy McCartin - clean out the assistant coaches who have been proven failures, namely Sexton and McPhee, replace them with successful assistant coaches who have actually played at the elite AFL level (unlike both Sexton and McPhee) and the problem of player development will be solved. Both Billings and McCartin have suffered at the hands of mediocre coaches....

respect everyones opinion but disagree. Since he got dropped and went and got some ball and confidence he has been much better players.

Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
I gave myself a permanent ban from this site 12 months ago as the negativity was not healthy for my saints soul.
While i check in occassionally, I thought I'd jump in to make a few comments.
here's my first one - Sainternist you are a first class nit.
JB is 22 for goodness sake and you don't think he's good enough - please give yourself a social media ban until next season.

Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
No he doesn't he like most of list need better coaches. The talent is there it is not being tapped. I flew to Adelaide and watched first hand how bad we are. One passage of play I think I counted 6 passes /kicks that landed in front of the target or behind them. It is embarrassing to watch

Re: Jack Billings Needs to Be Traded
We need to trade someone of value to get back into the early stages of the draft.
Offers will come for Billings, Paddy and one or 2 of our young guns.
Personally I hope we trade either Paddy or Ross as they still have some market value. Ross tries hard and gets a lot of it but butchers it. Either of these 2 could potentially deliver us a first rounder.

He's played like that all year. But hey, he's young so he's nearing his peak apparently. It's time to concede he's just not that goodSainternist wrote: ↑Sun 08 Jul 2018 4:09pmI watched him yesterday.
