Jimmy Webster
Not sure what the fuss is about this bloke.
One of the most average players I have ever seen at the Saints.
Falls over at the wrong time always, and also turns it over often.
Everyone has fallen in love with him.
We have so many half back flankers who will be better than him.
McKenzie, Coffield, White, Rice, Savage, Newnes, Roberton.
Webster, just a plodder for mine.

Re: Jimmy Webster
We have other more average players than Webster... Saints Fans probably like the idea that he is the one person who takes the game on every time...
He was probably up with anyone for the best and fairest before his injury... more than a bit harsh

Webster has been fantastic all year, I think you actually just described the bloke who has been our captain for the last 2 years.

Re: Jimmy Webster
Before injury he had a few consistently really good games...
Seems like one of the few that could become elite even if he stagnates at times... like the rest of our list.
Hard for anyone with such poor coaching, imbalanced sides and underperformers beyond reproach

Port worked out our strength was our attack comes from the quick transition out of defence. With Jake out Jimmy had their defence work him over.

Re: Jimmy Webster
Robbie Gray can make any player in the AFL look ordinary in a one on one contest.
I'm always amazed he doesn't get mentioned when people talk of the gun small forwards.
Superstar for mine.

Re: Jimmy Webster
He would possibly be winning the Saints B & F and would probably be in the AA squad if he didn't get injured this year. What a load of bloody horseshit thread this is. He has easily been in our best 3 players this year and is hitting his peak years.
f*** people talk s*** on here.

Re: Jimmy Webster
He was our best or second best in the three games before he was injured. First game back after a layoff and he doesn’t play well so he must be a dud.

Re: Jimmy Webster
I agree. Courageous, quick and usually starts our attacking run off the half-back line. Savage could take a leaf out of Jimmy's play book. Has had a good season to date. One of a few.

Re: Jimmy Webster
Watch the game closely people.
When he hits a kick well it all looks ok, but he hits 5 to 6 out of 10.
Also falls over a lot and gets beaten one on one a lot, and panics with the footy, its like a hot potato in his hands.
I do not dispute he has had his best year personally and he is courageous, but I think he is highly overrated, and will never be elite.
I am looking at our side 2-3 years from now and in the long term I prefer McKenzie, Coffield, White and Rice, my view is they all will be better players than he is now.
Sorry for having an opinion.

Personally I bloody love Coffield.
What is the go with White? Doesnt look AFL fit to me. Is he training right? Does he take his gym work seriously? No definition.

Re: Jimmy Webster
He has played some high level footy over the past couple of years but always seems to get injured just as he's hitting top form and then takes a while to build back up. Webster definitely isn't an area of concern for us right now

Re: Jimmy Webster
Webster:
Averaging 23 disposals at nearly 80% efficiency.
7th total in disposals. 4th average in disposals.
In Saints best 3 players this year.
A rebounding machine.
All for a HB flanker.
Has also missed games.

Re: Jimmy Webster
Haha. Webster is better than every single one of those players mentioned hands down.
Savage better than Webster?
Start a thread on our best player this year. Obviously a look at me post
