Who to step up?
Which of these young players do people think will step up and have the biggest impact in 2006?
Sam Fisher started off well in 2004, before blossoming into a very good defender last year. cementing a spot and finishing top 6 in the Best and Fairest.
Can we expect that sort of thing from someone this season. All of these guys are young and developing, and all have shown something at AFL level. Can they cement a place in 2006 and give us a valuable lift that can help us with our flag push.
I think either Joey or Leigh Fisher.
Joey has finished each of the last 3 seasons strongly. He just needs to crack his way in early and he will be in good shape to get a full year under his belt. with the retirement of aussie he has a huge chance.
I am also a big Leigh Fisher fan. reckon he is vital when fit and can't wait to see how he goes.

Gee that is a hard one IMO...
I expect all will "step up"........
But for me it has to be Ferguson... just loved the way he played in the intraclub match last year...
yeah roo kicked 4 goals, but in the one on ones Ferguson just killied him IMO...
for me
#1 Ferguson
# 2 McQualter
#3 Gram
#4 Ralph
#5 Guilt
IMO Sam Fisher has got there, and Leigh Fisher maybe in a years time..
Brooks ... I really don't know...
But I bloody hope so.........

Hey....SaintBot wrote:interesting to see that no-body thinks fisher is in for a good year...he is equal 2nd on my list
are you talking about Sam or Leigh???
Sam is not mentioned in the poll...
FWIW...
Leigh is a great player...
and if you want to compare him with Fergson....
Fergs 187 and can play tall...
Leigh Fisher 184 great player IMO, but Fergs has more options IMO

This season represents a huge opportunity for Leigh Montagna. When he was drafted, JB described him as a player similar to Aussie Jones. Now that Aussie is gone its time for Montagna to step up. I really enjoyed watching Joey in the latter part of last season and in the finals. He showed the ability to break the lines with his pace and penetrating right foot which is something that Aussie was renowned for. I hope that both Montagna and Xavier Clarke can make the most of 2006. If our midfield lacks one thing it is pace, and these two players can provide that versatility if they can cement their spot in the 22.

Lance or James??
