Josh Bruce Broken Leg
SEN and the news just confirmed that Brucey will be out for the rest of the season with a broken leg suffered at training.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”

Re: Josh Bruce Broken Leg
Despite all this (if true), it's still the coaches fault and his game plan.

Re: Josh Bruce Broken Leg
This reminds me of the early GT era... I think at one stage in 2003, we had a total of 24 fit players on the list and one of the listed emergencies had to be a player that was injured and had no hope of actually coming in.
Came up with another stat which was something like the Saints played 14 players with less than 15games experience or some absurd stat like that.
IIRC, we played Collingwood and lost by 15 goals... game was memorable because the scoreboard mercifully went down for about half the game and nobody in the crowd knew exactly how bad it was

Re: Josh Bruce Broken Leg
Isn’t it a godsend we aren’t battling for a place in the finals? At this rate of injuries happening to key position players, soon we’ll have no one over 6 foot to play in our team.
Who is putting up their hands for full back and centre half back this week? If I recollect correctly Port Adelaide have plenty of big men and gorillas that patrol their forward 50.
Good luck kids!

Yes I agree. At least he’s versatile enough to play back, forward, or in the ruck. Need Gilbo in for experience tho IMHO.
I can see Tex Walker and that Dixon bloke rag-dolling a few of our makeshift key backs, whoever they may be.
Oh well good learning experience for all no doubt.

Re: Josh Bruce Broken Leg
Couldn’t Nathan Brown do a quick course of ‘Goal Umpiring 101’? Don’t the goal umps change ends at each quarter?
Then Brown could stand at the back of the goals issuing instructions to whoever mans up on Walker.
Brown whispers, “block his run now; the umps on the wrong side, so you can safely chop out his left arm without being freed; watch his leads to the pocket as he’ll always double back into a centre hole, then back to the pocket; don’t hang onto his jumper, go for his ears there is more to hold there, and they flap so much the ump won’t think they are being held; and, importantly, watch out for Geary, when he does his kamikaze act of launching into a pack containing Walker & Dixon trying to take them out, he’s liable to miss them and take you out in the process!”
Brown implores, “please, don’t let Tex get too many goals, remember I’ve got crook shoulders as it is and flag wavering will make them worse............ most of all Good-Luck kiddo, but don’t read Saintsational after the match, all the negative nellies will be pot-shotting you, and, trying to trade you off for a #5 round pick in the draft or, marking your papers as not up to AFL standard”.

Re: Josh Bruce Broken Leg
How the absolute f*** is this the cubs fault. A Doctor was treating him for a rib injury, the treatment had a small chance to cause a minor lung puncture.
Some people just want to stick the boots in to the club regardless of actual facts
