Re: We are getting pick 4 or 5
That would be Rankine - however would you be happy with 12 to 18 possessions a game?
Below some highlights from his game - SA vs WA a few weeks back - 14 possessions & 1 goal - I think most of the highlights are from the 3rd quarter when he caught fire

thanks for the highlight vids. Walsh looks the best to suit or needs at present, SMith is a great inside mid and Rankine is a great small forward and King is a great Full forward.

Rankine is more than a small forward, he is a mid that also can go forward and change a game, similar to the role that Dusty and to a lesser degree De Goey have shown over recent times.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Wed 27 Jun 2018 10:06pm thanks for the highlight vids. 100% agree
but jaxons we will pick max king.
we love local good private school boys. the fact max king has done an acl we see that as a bonus. lock it in. Max King with pick 5. Rankine at pick 6 will be a star

Ben King looks better than Max.
Is Goddard a bust?
If so with Nathan brown 30, Roberton cooked and Carlsisle a nutter all. Maybe we need that key defender/swinfman

Re: We are getting pick 4 or 5
It wasn't meant to be a negative comment, Rankine has some serious skills and looks like he could become a star. From what I have read and seen he seems like a forward that will float back to the middle and get the ball as opposed to an outside mid who floats forward. And there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. No doubt he will be given varying roles in the upcoming months to show where he best fits but he's goal sense makes me think he will play forward.jaxons wrote: ↑Thu 28 Jun 2018 12:32amRankine is more than a small forward, he is a mid that also can go forward and change a game, similar to the role that Dusty and to a lesser degree De Goey have shown over recent times.DJ Higgins wrote: ↑Wed 27 Jun 2018 10:06pm thanks for the highlight vids. If we draft him I assure you I will not be upset but I would still prefer Walsh

Walsh or Smith for mine. We need a mid like these two.

Re: We are getting pick 4 or 5
Having only seen that it’s tough but looks to me like:
1. Walsh class accumulator
2. Smith - bull who gets his arms free
3. Rankine - excitement machine, makes stuff happen but won’t get you 30 each week....
Bloody hell.....I want them all..

Re: We are getting pick 4 or 5
Just pick the best player...
one who can kick straight over 40+ metres, one who can take an over head mark, one who has speed and can actually win the ball, one who is not 168cm, one who has judgement and one who has good man on man skills.
At least 50% of these requirements the player should already have...
Is that too much too f***king ask?

Re: We are getting pick 4 or 5
Maybe Saynta. I just can't see the Bears, Suns (especially now Lynch is cactus) and Blues finishing above us.
I just realised this is a really sad thread as we are discussing where we will finish in the bottom 6 and have obviously accepted that fate. What a clusterfuck of a season 2018 has turned out to be after 2 pretty good previous years! We should be talking where we will finish in the middle 6 (what we hoped and thought anyway).

Ranking won't get to 6.
As I told you all the most exciting talent in draft since Buddy Franklin.
We have pick 5 at the moment as Suns will have 2 picks in a row when Lynch leaves.
Don't think we will get Rankine at 5.

Have you seen our block of next four matches? Pretty tough on paper.parkeysainter wrote: ↑Fri 29 Jun 2018 2:30pmMaybe Saynta. I just can't see the Bears, Suns (especially now Lynch is cactus) and Blues finishing above us.

Port - Away - Interstate
Carlton - Home
Richmond - Home
Greater Western Sydney - Away - Interstate
Except for Carlton we start as rank outsider in all of them.
It gets a little easier after that with our last block of four games all at Docklands, but the problem is the 'Dogs and Bombres are improving and scoring better, and North and Hawthorn give little sign of tapering off with their form. Injuries and suspensions will play their part both ways, but tough run home. We would not start favourites in any of those matches.
But I am confident in that I think we'll be able to account for the 'Dogs.
The Lions on the other hand; have you seen Brisbane's fixture on the run home? The Lions could, and should, gazump us, I would think. If they don't, they're in real strife.
And FWIW I think we need to go for Gaff and/or Shiels. If we need to give up our first pick to get this done, then trade away!
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

Re: We are getting pick 4 or 5
Our one hope is that Gold Coast take both Kings to keep them together. Meaning 2 of Walsh, Smith and Rankine will be available at 5.jaxons wrote: ↑Wed 04 Jul 2018 10:46pmRanking won't get to 6.

Re: We are getting pick 4 or 5
With Carlisle, Bruce and Battle gone with all our other injuries we cant win. pick 2 ours but of course we get f***ed over again. Carlton to beat Saints, Suns and one of Crows or Dogs at home. Lions to beat Suns and Blues at home.
1. Gold Coast - Lukosious
2. Gold Coast - Rankine
3. StKilda - Walsh
4. Carlton - who cares
walsh or rankine please.
Although Walsh seems a bit vanilla. would rather rankine.
Walsh no go home factor though.
got the feeing Max King is who we'll pick even if we had pick 2.
