Agree the WCE have surprised many but I would’ve thought North would be the biggest surprise thus far. I don’t know of anyone who had them outside of the bottom 3Con Gorozidis wrote: ↑Thu 14 Jun 2018 9:42pmdragit wrote: ↑Thu 14 Jun 2018 9:33pmGood callCon Gorozidis wrote: ↑Tue 20 Mar 2018 10:35pm I think we will finish above the Eagles.

That went well.
Also shows i was wildly optimistic about us in March (who isnt?) - we hadnt played a game at that stage...
And I was wildly pessimistic about the Eagles (long way away over there)....
To be honest I thought we would finish about 10th and the Eagles 12th.
So I was bloody way off with the Eagles. They are the surprise side of the year. Amazingly they have had 7 debutants this season. What an incredible performance. Hats off to them.

Seriously the only way the Saints will get a box seat for McGovern is if they book a box at Optus Stadium and watch him play.

Hang on. Which McGovern is the OP talking about?
We have no chance with the Perth one.
We might have a small chance with the Adelaide one.

I strongly disagree though that most FA's just want the best possible money. Offering the best money still failed us to net Sloane previously, as well as Dusty, Martin and even Kelly last year. They're already at that point of their career where everyone is offering them superstar money and they have to consider several factors, like whether they want to play in a successful team, do they want to win a premiership, which city they want to play in, which club is run better, etc.
Bad management is bad management

Never once said we were in the box seat for the Adelaide McGovern. From all reports, he wants out though. Saints are interested.

Can't wait for next year... Paton and ganglands all Australian, 2 McGoverns, Sloane, gaff.
Weller getting back to that incredible 21 goal / year form, playing browny into 200 games and only having to move him off the best players every 2 or 3 weeks.
Longer just so strong in the contest and protecting mids like a chicken mum in a fox den.
Huge year. How many sleeps left?

Read my lips (or the below sentence I should say):
We are currently the frontrunners/in the box seat to secure J. McGovern from the WCE as a free agent.
We are talking millions here mate. But of course the above could change. There are alot of factors and circumstances in play between now and the FA period.
