Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 13 2018
Ambivalence - so bad was the first half, so uninspiring and absent any real suggestion we have a team that may one day get back to the level needed that playing one good quarter cannot quite be enough. Any other opposition and we would all be lining up to sign a petition to sack the coach. As it is, we have too many turn over merchants.
Where too from here, I would trade Ross, We might get a second round for him. Keeps us in the draft.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 13 2018
Once we got to 11 points with time left all the boys lifted and played like madmen. The pressure was huge keeping it in our foward line. The Suns seemed to panic and had no one to steady them. Arno was huge in those frantic final minutes. And I liked Mav’s game. In the third qtr he was our only standoutSemperFidelis wrote: ↑Sat 16 Jun 2018 8:32pmFantastic you were there at the end to see the win Stevie; reckon I heard you booing all of the non free kicks in the first half!stevie wrote:That was unreal to be a part of it. Guys - I have told you before - I have found the solution to our problem.
It was my mother's birthday today, and so she came over to have cake and watch the game before going out to dinner. Her dinner reservations were at 7:00pm do she stayed here until 6:30pm - or 3/4 time - she then went to dinner
I need a slush fund to send her to dinner each time we play.

I find this forum hilarious at times.
If we keep losing, all hell breaks loose. If we win, all hell breaks loose.
The only thing I can take from most of the comments on this thread is being negative is a positive with the "in" crowd.

That's what we call a "circuit breaker"!
Enjoy the night people, and ffs relax.
No need for sad sack until Monday. A day off, ja?

How important is Gresham? We will be a lot better when Long comes back too.
Does anybody else on here think that McCartin should just play as a utility? He seems to play that role pretty well, and he ended up kicking a couple of goals anyway.
And Battle must play every game for the rest of the year.
Two men down and we fight back from 7 goals down. Well played.

I will say it again - Paddy CHF - Back of the square forward - delivering to the forwards - his 50 mtr passes are awesome - and Josh Battle playing FF

Re: Match Thread Saints v Suns Round 13 2018
Absolutely. Our structure became so much better. Battle is our FF, Paddy at CHF, Membrey and Gresh our mobile targets throw in Bruce when he comes back and we look ok. Dont mind Armo playing forward also. He presented well. Well done old fella.Sainter_Dad wrote: ↑Sat 16 Jun 2018 9:54pmsamuraisaint wrote: ↑Sat 16 Jun 2018 9:43pm Does anybody else on here think that McCartin should just play as a utility?

Longer. Weller. Armo. Paddy. McKenzie.
Slow as treacle.
Stuart Dew isn't stupid and just adjusted his team accordingly.

Arno was great tonight. Some of his work in close was A1, especially in the last.
Still love seeing him come storming through a stoppage chest puffing and breaking tackles. Such a unit

I'm just happy for a win. Much much better than Suns replying with a goal in the dying seconds. For some of our players they sing theme song for first time.

Nah pick 3 ok still....
Pick 1 is what I’m after
I don’t kid
People who kid themselves still think it’s in our best interests to win every game from here on in
I don’t do that unashamedly I just want talent into the side so we can really challenge not ‘honourable wins’ against dud sides like GC

Settle down d!ck he’s still cooked and can’t run out of sight on a dark night
Where was he first 3 quarters when we were being bent over by a dud side?
Fock me we beat a side who haven’t kicked a goal in the last qtr for their last 4 games and out comes every turnip and I couldn’t give a <edited by mods> if he’s your brother, cousin sister or Aunty
