You obviously have time on your hands because you post enough times on here ( especially if you have time to post links to YouTube like the vids of Saints losses today..what are you thinking...???)
Ok. So basically, what I am saying is; use your brain instead of confirming to everyone what a knucklehead you are. If you are curious and you want to know something about a poster, do some research. From his early posts you'll find he states he watched the Saints in the 60's

Re: Tony Elshaugh
C'mon guys settle down... this is a moment of great celebration!!!
The most incompetent list manager in the history of our club has been given the boot in the arse!!
He took us to rock bottom, and now, finally we can feel the winds of change blowing in the right direction... like a summer breeze.
I'm having a few cold ones tonight to celebrate... and make no apologies for doing so.
Finally we may actually recruit some talent...I feel so positive at the moment. Bring on the draft!!
Cheers everyone!

Re: Tony Elshaugh
I think we needed change but I’m not sure drafting is our issue
I feel that whilst he hasn’t been perfect Trout has drafted some quality players, the problem has been our ability to develop them and develop a game plan around them
Sure he has made some mistakes there’s no doubt about that... only time will tell as to just how many / how bad those mistakes were...is it lack of development or just plain bad recruiting? Obviously a bit of both but I’m hoping the weighting is towards poor developemenf as that can be fixed!

Re: Tony Elshaugh
As a staunch Dandenong supporter, I had a bit of a soft spot for Elshaug.
But, if you look at our list, and in so far as he is responsible for it, he obviously had to go

So it was him that took us to rock bottom? Great. Case closed. No more need to conduct any further reviews. That'll save some money.saintadamski wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jun 2018 7:45pm C'mon guys settle down... this is a moment of great celebration!!!

Re: Tony Elshaugh
Ok, so Elshaug has gone and now the new guy whoever he is is gonna pick all these great new players in the draft.
Only problem is we don’t have many picks.
If the ladder ends up as it is now we have pick 3 and our next pick is 57
We have no 2nd or 3rd round picks.
So unless we trade players for picks, the new guy will have to do his best work with picks in the 60’s or 70’s.
Good luck with that.

Re: Tony Elshaugh
List management doesn’t work in 12month blocks.
A good list manager will be 3-4 years down the track...2 minimum and it is not all about the draft.

Re: Tony Elshaugh
Whilst that is clearly correct, the decision to move Elshaugh out seems to indicate that there may be a number of players traded out for either or both picks or players. Although we don't have any genuine A grades we now have plenty of B and C grade players who are tradable.Con Gorozidis wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jun 2018 10:51pm We have only one pick in the first 40 in a superdraft.

To get a top 25 pick we will have to trade out someone decent.one point wrote: ↑Fri 15 Jun 2018 11:06pmWhilst that is clearly correct, the decision to move Elshaugh out seems to indicate that there may be a number of players traded out for either or both picks or players. Re: Tony Elshaugh
That's the art of a good trade. You need to give something to get something. If it's a good trade both clubs end up better off for having done the trade. The unknown is who will replace Elshaugh and what skill and knowledge will they bring to the table.

Re: Tony Elshaugh
I suspect the recruit/retain/move on decision making is going to be quite a rigorous process now and Simon will be checking the arguments for and against very closely. I imagine there will a significant number of list changes/farewells at the end of season. Lonie, Savage, Weller, a ruckman or two, Sammy G, Armo and wouldn't surprise if Newnes and Brown were to go or be put on notice no contract renewals. Eight or nine spots gives a fair bit of additional salary cap space and not all that glitters in the first two rounds is the extent of the gold.
