I think we will finish above the Eagles.
So I think we should go hard for Gaff.

Re: Saints in box seat for McGovern
If the Saints got either of Gaff, McGovern or Sloane I would be happy.
Even Libba and Dalhouse wouldn't be bad pickups but whispers tell me those blokes are somewhat party boys.

If Libya or Dalhous are interested in coming to the club, hopefully they’ve settled down a bit and gotten that early 20’s ‘party hard’ mentality out of their system.parkeysainter wrote:If the Saints got either of Gaff, McGovern or Sloane I would be happy.

Partied all the way to a premiership too! It's not that they wouldn't like to be in a successful crossword group or anything, and I'm certainly not suggesting there's anything wrong with thatCon Gorozidis wrote:do you live in a monastery?parkeysainter wrote:If the Saints got either of Gaff, McGovern or Sloane I would be happy.

Just passing on what I hear Big Con G. I will start using scuttlebutt from now on as a synonym for whispers.

"she spoke in a whisper"
synonyms: murmur, mutter, mumble, low voice, hushed tone, undertone
"she spoke in a whisper"
antonyms: shout
a rumour or piece of gossip.
"whispers of a blossoming romance"
synonyms: rumour, story, report, speculation, insinuation, suggestion, hint; gossip, hearsay, word, scandal, tittle-tattle, idle talk; on dit, bavardage; Kaffeeklatsch; labrish, shu-shu; informalbuzz; informalgoss; informalscuttlebutt; informalfurphy; informalskinder; rarebruit

Both players didn’t get contracts renewed because they are on watch.
Think it might have to do with accusations of bullying against player who took some time off last year for mental health issues.

I'd happily take $1 million a year to be 'bullied' by a bloke a fraction of my size.
(Though maybe Libba' is a nasty Dinsdale Piranha type? Knows all the tricks? Uses sarcasm...? )

That went well.
Also shows i was wildly optimistic about us in March (who isnt?) - we hadnt played a game at that stage...
And I was wildly pessimistic about the Eagles (long way away over there)....
To be honest I thought we would finish about 10th and the Eagles 12th.
So I was bloody way off with the Eagles. They are the surprise side of the year. Amazingly they have had 7 debutants this season. What an incredible performance. Hats off to them.
