In all seriousness, what did you expect?
In all seriousness..I did expect it ..but knowing an execution is coming doesn't soften the blow when it arrives... I mean wow..I can't remember a crap side as this. Admittedly my mem is failing and I did attend many games at moorabin but this is crap. I mean really bad football skills, poor coaching..f%$k all system and endevour ..I feel sick.
There was no salary crap or draft in the 80s.

So we have less excuses now.

True to form.
Put us on FTA TV......Guaranteed we will get pumped by 60+.

Honest question. Does anybody under the age of 30 actually go for the Saints? Is the club endangered? No way are we getting any new or young fans anytime soon.
I’m brainwashing my boy.

If I have to suffer then so does he.

Pleas don’t call child services.
Serious question.
Does he have many mates his age who go for the Saints?
I live in Sydney and am a long suffering fan lived through the eighties at Moorabbin - my son 13 still a fan -he told me that a parent asked him last week at his afl club he plays for up here who he barracked for and he said they could not believe his response

Our youngsters look pretty ordinary compared to other teams - making very basic skill errors. And yes I do hold our recruiters and development coaches responsible.

Alas we both argued some time ago we needed more quality than what we have, that a cliff was coming with retirement of some greats......and that we needed to drink longer and deeper from the draft we'll and still some on here suggest tanking is a dirty word ! Doesn’t prove or disprove anything but not let’s be too specific.

We got pick 7 and pick 8 so haven’t done too badly out of the draft but it still hasn’t helped our CURRENT position.

No let's just flog those Suns/Lions and really do ourselves out of any shot at a number 1 draft pick in a gun draft righto? Cause that's the "smart" thing to do......

Sydney is a much better team so let us not be to too harsh on our guys. We were beaten all over the ground but my biggest problem was our accuracy again and long bombs into 50. Just saw Richo presser and he is a broken man now. Trying to find positives where there are none. Writing is one the wall IMO

He didn't try to find positives, did he? Nah, he couldn't have!

Well it hasn’t helped the Lions and the Blues and it’s not what the good teams do Sydney, Geelong, West Coat etc

Battle was about it. Too be fair he knew we were beaten badly so he wasn't trying to gild the gold. But he wasn't confident or satisfied in the slightest

Its harder to develop our kids because they don't have the role models and leadership, Roo and Monty helped a lot but were surrounded by Geary, Weller, Newnes, Seb Ross, Gilbert. Now Roo and Monty are gone development will be even harder. Look at the Swans kids, they have Kennedy, Hannebry, Parker, McVeigh, Franklin and a number of others who set the standard.

Ollie is Jack Billings in a Swines jumper. Exactly the same body, type of player and game style. How well do you reckon Jack Billings would be doing playing at Schytney right now?

When's the last time you saw Sydney Geelong etc look as shyte as we do right now?
We can't attract a FA to save our life have stuff all to trade so what other avenue do we actually have other than the draft to get some quality? We got a pretty handy CHF for a decade last time we were this shyte out of the draft?
Why on gods green earth would you not put ourselves in a position to at lest have that option again all for the sake of short term pain and a loss or 2 (which we are already having anyway)
It's sheer bloody mindedness and stupidity and why this clubs never risen - not smart

Same goes for Will Hayward. Absolute gun.
Consider this.
Hayward is only 19. He has already kicked 43 goals from 29 games.

That is 13 more goals than McCartin. From 3 less games. And he is more than 2 years younger.

Think about that for a minute.

We need a reality check.
1. McCartin is not going to make it. He is a draft bust.
2. Billings is also a draft bust. Pea heart who will do ok in a good team which won’t be us. Swap him for a 2nd round pick?
3. Hickey is not good enough.
4. We have 0 A graders and worst list in the competition.

Impossible to fix the list in 1 year but I suggest;
1. throw everything at Rory Sloane as he is a leader and would immediately be captain.
2. Get Tom Lynch back. Won’t be cheap but sounds like he wants to come back to Victoria.
3. Take whatever they can get for Biilings and McCartin now.

I thought McCartin was probably our best last night.
