50 – 100 game players not stepping up ….. really!
Give me a freakin spell.
.....What are doing about engaging the members again, how about that huh ….. or would you rather play a theme match proclaiming land rights for gay whales who may or may not be a whale but could be a dolphin.
This club is becoming a joke …. You can spruik all the shite you want.

I for one aint copping it.
OK, I edited it because we can all scroll upwards to see The Craw's post.
I agree wholeheartedly with his sentiment.
"Pride Game"?
How about the club focus on Pride in how they play, cos they ain't showing no pride on the field.
Is this deflection or what?
Spin spin spin like a bloody politician.
He's good at spin...I think he might have spun to his spouse about the purpose of his flights to Sydney.
Yeah, spin doctor. Dr Lethlean, Spin Specialist.

Bottom line is Summers, Finnis and Richo all need to be moved on immediately, who can pull this off?

New President and 3 new board members need to come on, not a board spill.

Lethlean to be appointed CEO immediately.

Kingsley to take over coaching and audition in the job for the remainder of the season.

Looks like board infighting.

Andrew T needs to go. Nice bloke but he has been there too long.

He has overseen a few doozies!!

Coach has to go; assistants, recruitment and development and some cloggers
Yeah that’s a creative response. Sack everyone and then put in who?

Let’s put you in cause you’d fit right in with current board - just sitting back commentating in other people’s comments without an ability to muster a view??

Let me guess your plan “she’ll be right mate....just wait another 5 years...”

Genius...,

One thing I agree with Finnis on is that we don't need a complete rebuild of the List and quite frankly we're in a world of sh*t if I'm wrong about that. Some major tinkering with the List and reviewing of recruitment priorities is definitely in order.

All this use of the term Top 4 team in 2018, 2020 or whenever is pointless. The burning question is, do we have the nucleus of a List that can challenge for a Premiership at some stage?

Kingsley has been there longer than Richo, how do we know he isn't the problem or part of it? I am also concerned that the Club will take the easy & cheap option and appoint Kingsley if he has moderate success in his short tenure and not seriously consider other options. If the Club decide to move Richo on, then all the Coaches need to go, unless it is found that Richo just ignores them and doesn't work with them. If that were the case, then it should have been dealt with a long time ago. I'd prefer any caretaker not to be in line for the full time job.

How would there be changes to the Board? I assume that member(s) would call for an Extraordinary General Meeting? Am I right on that?
Great post
I too am not sure of Kingsley and think it’s the easier option
Agree with Jax on those others all going
Loved this from Finnis

“You have a plan that was put in place in February 2014 that is drawing to the end of its period. We are currently in the focus of doing a lot of our strategic planning for the next iteration of 2019-2022.”

No mention of how that “plan” has gone.....let’s just roll on to the next “plan”

At least we are starting to get some more realistic statements from the club. The spin is stopping because supporters, football commentators and journalist's have called BS on it.

At the risk of being smashed is the belief that the coach needs to be sacked due to a lack of tactics, planning, match day nous, or our record is 1-1-7?

To me apart from the Geelong game where the coaching was terrible by persisting with extra around the ball and continually kicking to their extra i can think of too many other tactical errors which have cost us games. North, Haw, Melb, Freo, Coll, all inability to convert cost us more than coaching tactics (IMO), Adelaide , Geelong - soon to be Rich, WC just too good for us.

Now i believe the selection committee, which includes the coach has a lot to answer for with their blind faith in some. I believe the recruiting of the safe options year in year out is the reason we have no A grade players .

Perhaps the coach does need to go , but seems top me like this club int he 80's , Richmond 80's, 90's 00's , and a few others when things hit the skids the coach is the issue.

Lets look to the inability to execute basic kicking skills for goal, lets look at the lack of performance by players such as Newness (before this week) , Billings, Armitage, Weller, Sinclair, Longer . Lets look at the injuries to key personnel - roberton (top 40 AA last year), Bruce,

The coaching may not have been great but it is a really easy out for performances where a number of individual players have not delivered.

That's true and coach going alone won't bring the change we need but let's face it he's not had 1 or 2 years he's had 5
I genuinely, now or from late last season to now, do not see a forward structure and approach to move the ball into forward 50. I still see long bombs , panicked over use of the ball, hand balling to people under pressure and that's before player skills have deteriorated. As someone else noted Membrey was a dead eye last season......he's a shell now
No not all coaching but he wears some of that and ought to make way honourably

In case no one is aware, they made the finals the 3 previous years to 2016.

It gives me the shytes the amount of times this comes up.

Richo has delivered us NO FINALS.
So...they finished a couple spots above us and won just as many finals?
They also had an amazing run without injuries and they had stability in admin and the coaching department. We've got stability in admin although there has probably been a bit of distraction with the move back to Mooraabin, and we've had stability in the coaching departnent. They also had stability in the playing group with the core of thier list having developed together over many seasons.

We've been significantly impacted by injuries, especially this year, and to key structural players and IMO I think our players haven't got the maturity yet to overcome such adversity, the group probably still havent adjusted to Roo and Joey being there in such times.

So I can see what Lethlean means when he says our 50-100 game players haven't stepped up. They haven't lost the talent they had this time last year when we beat GWS and made Richmond look VFL standard. They are still on a learning curve IMO and holding your nerve could be the key.
I do tend to agree with this. I thought all along that this year we wouldn't make the finals with the loss of Rooey and Joey. Its hard not to get caught up in the hype of "we will make the 8". However, I never did think the season would be this bad. Just the odd win to keep us going would be nice. So do we hold our nerve or make changes? I want to believe in Richo, but I think we could definitely do with a change with some of the Assistants and maybe a review of our game plan, please......................

King showed some footage on 360 last night of saints players running into the forward line ignoring closer player on their own and kicking to outnumbered saints in marking contest in the goal square.

Even my grandchildrens' under aged teams would be ashamed if they performed similar football sins.

In one lot he even pointed out young Sinclair who was clearly 15 metres in the clear who wasn't even calling for the ball as he clearly knew the coaches instructions and that the ball wouldn't be kicked to him

The ball was rebounded in each case where if the ball had been kicked to the unattended saints player, there would have been a clear shot on goal.

Not that the player would kick it though.

I was hopeful because I thought our goal kicking would improve.....It has gone backwards.

Armo was coming back......he has also gone backwards.

Steven, Stevens and Wellar wouldn't be playing hurt......Yeah well

And Freeman would finally get on the park and improve our outside mids overall speed with the ball.....'nough said there already.
