Our 1.2 million posts took half a day to migrate into the new version of the software.

Bells and whistles still to be added.

5861 users of 7272 users were using the style Extreme Dark Red by Vinnie having chosen to switch from the default Saintsational style (1362 users) with a few remaining users split between 4 other styles.

Extreme Dark Red by Vinnie wasn’t available for this version so we picked something similar. Not exactly the same of course.

We shall add some styles to switch to but not all of the old versions are available for this neeer version of the forum software.

By the way these phpBB “experts” based overseas say they have never worked on a forum this big and active before and that in itself has presented some unique challengers!

Thanks Simon for undertaking the work. Much appreciated. Would be awesome to have some lighter background options available as this black background isn’t very user friendly for me. Cheers.

A lighter version is on the to do list! Hopefully by this weekend.

We are still having the issue with the extended time outs and that is what we are trying to currently solve.

top right corner is now a drop down menu for style choice

added prosilver as a choice

hoping to add one more if we can find one with white background and red / black text

As for the question as to what bigfooty (and most every other forum) has that we don't is a memory function so that when you click on a thread you have already visited you go straight to the last post you read.

I like the new look... I’ve got a blackish grey, reddish pink, and white background... bigger font too. Don’t know what any of these new features are but I’ll look at them overtime

If I am understanding correctly re the "memory function" then that is a feature we have had previously and this new version has it too.

Click on the "arrow" next the thread and it takes you to the first unread post.

Investigating limited the video embed. The aim is to allow footy content on the fan forum.

We have smilies (like emojis) and working on a LIKE button but it is later on the list.

video embed we need - i get your worry about it, but images are the same. anyone could potentially post a porn gif. but they don't. And it's not just footy content - we have a general forum. Look at how videos enrich bigfooty, twitter, fb, etc.

and good new about the 'like' button. Can we also have a 'dislike' so the haters can simply push that instead of yelling at each other over and over

Have asked re the automatic memory function.

Understand what you are saying re video BUT we have had to remove some pretty bad images in the past ... so first exploring allowing video on a restricted basis.

If you are on a PC, then hold the Ctrl key and scroll up until it suits you. Windows should remember the setting.
