Re: Board Challenge
I would like to know what I'm buying first. The current regime isn't working, but how do we know the new one will be any better?
I like the idea of an external review to determine where exactly the problems lie.

Definitely. It's what would happen in any normal business.saint-stu wrote:I would like to know what I'm buying first. The current regime isn't working, but how do we know the new one will be any better?

As much as I dislike most other clubs - I genuinely admire Geelong ('06), Richmond ('16) and the Pies for having a proper review done. And also - then effecting the review by putting the suggested measures in place.
I hope we do something similar - not because of the 'follow the leader' factor - but because I genuinely think there's merit in having impartial eyes review our entire operation.
Go you red, black & white warriors

Unless the coaching staff drop the ball completely and literally s*** a brick in front of the board... there will be no changes...
This is what I reckon will happen.
A. Questions will be put to the board regarding playing list, game plan and our results.
B. Answers will be given.
I'll betcha the board then arrange to have some form of review to ensure that the coaches, particularly the senior coach are doing only what they should.
That review will then recommend that a WHOLE BUNCH of bulls*** gets taken off Richo and delegated to either admin or assistant coaches.
Hopefully that is sooner rather than later.
This season is cooked. At best we can be a nuisance.
We cannot go sacking coaches if we want to get anywhere. IF things dont improve over the next three months, then sure, we probably need to make a change well in advance of the draft and trade period.
But not now.
Let Essendrug spiral into the basket case that they deserve.
That should NOT be us. We left that bulls*** back in the 80's.

Alan Morrow, Carl Ditterich or Jeff Sarau.
That's the full list of Saints hard ruckmen.
Oh, Okay. Rix.
As ex-president Peter Summers said:
“If we are going to be a contender, we may as well plan to win the bloody thing.”
St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Board Challenge
Really hope so Saynta because up to now Summers and his faceless board are ghost like. How is it we go from a hollywood style cocaine addict president to the phantom in Summers? Surely there is some executive out there with the strong leadership the Saints need, interested in taking control of our board/club.saynta wrote:The winds of change are gathering.

Re: Board Challenge
Was talking to a few inner sanctum people last week, and they think this is one bloke that should get involved.

Radek Sali is on the board at Hawthorn and his partner Shostak is meant to be wealthy, powerful and a passionate Saints man.
Clearly can attract some big guns to the club.

Re: Board Challenge
Amazing. On Monday an Essendon member rang 774 to say he was giving up his membership because the board had not informed the members about increasing the coach's tenure. Didn't they have something going on there a few years back that may have given more reason to giving up Essendon memberships.
Perhaps explains a bit more about the mentality/ethics of their supporters

Re: Board Challenge
I just found it interesting jaxon that these people seem to swap and change and sell and trade at the drop of a hat. I started work when i was 14 and a half and have just retired at 63 still with the same company. Also i know the family of one of the people that was mentioned in the article.

Re: Board Challenge
Noddy, I was given the back story here and it is quite a story so not sure it fits into the sell and trade area you are referring to, but aware from the outside looking in how it would look. More interested in the guy and if the information I received is accurate. Does anyone know of him?noddy04 wrote: ↑Thu 17 May 2018 3:05pm I just found it interesting jaxon that these people seem to swap and change and sell and trade at the drop of a hat.
