No way he will last until end of next year IMO. He’s causing damage to our club in crowd attendances and ability to attract FA. The combined cost is probably way more than a settlement figure. Remember we don’t have to necessarily payout his whole contract - a negotiated figure can be reached.SaintPav wrote:It’s not like we’re losing by 12 goals a game so the club won’t sack him this year and he’ll probably go again next year.
If this form line continues though, he’ll end up getting the arse towards the end of next year or after the season. The club will be forced to pay him out for 12 months. I can’t see him being sacked any earlier than this time next year. He’ll only be given that long because of the way his contract is structured. Moral hazard, not their actual money and all that. Incompetent f*ckwits.
10 wins or less over the next 37 games.
We’re on a death spiral.
Enjoy.

Why would Clarko leave Hawthorn for their ugly step sister? Can’t see it happening.

Because he'd be made an offer he couldn't refuse (a la The Godfather), that's why.prwilkinson wrote:Why would Clarko leave Hawthorn for their ugly step sister? Can’t see it happening.

Not sure we have the beans for that kind of offer.Sainternist wrote:Because he'd be made an offer he couldn't refuse (a la The Godfather), that's why.prwilkinson wrote:Why would Clarko leave Hawthorn for their ugly step sister? Can’t see it happening.

It was Garry Lyon who originally suggested this, remember? But having said that, imagine if we could pull this type of coup off. There would be new (and badly needed) hope restored to the club.thejiggingsaint wrote:Sainternist wrote:Because he'd be made an offer he couldn't refuse (a la The Godfather), that's why.prwilkinson wrote:Why would Clarko leave Hawthorn for their ugly step sister? Still don't know why people are scoffing at this idea. We'll need to start making some BIG changes by the end of the year.

It's a fact that no one ever offered Richo a senior coach role before we did and once he's fired he will never get another chance...so why pussy foot around. He got 5 years to stuff it up, now climb onto the coaches who cant lead a team worth a f@ck pile and let us get our next coach.

Barrett says our club has a board meeting next week and our on field performance will be a hot topic.Teflon wrote:Spot onDavid-Lee wrote:It's a fact that no one ever offered Richo a senior coach role before we did and once he's fired he will never get another chance...so why pussy foot around. IMHO, our off-field performances should be a hot topic too!!!thejiggingsaint wrote:GOOD! Re: Clarko - Make Him an Offer He Can't Refuse!
There are several valid reasons why Clarkson will never be senior coach at St Kilda FC.
(1) Clarkson is WAY too smart. Smart enough to avoid being the next “ messiah “( a-la M. Blight ) with all the baggage that will go with it.
(2) IF the St Kilda footy ever got within a bulls roar of being able to offer enough coin to the guy, ( “an offer he can’t refuse”) then I’d bet my bottom dollar that Collingwood, Richmond, West Coast, Sydney, Essendon, and Freo would be able to trump it.
(3) The task of overseeing another rebuild (at a club like St Kilda) would probably not be among his priorities career- wise.
It’s an interesting hypothetical exercise, one that can give amusement, but as a strategy? Fantasy!
