Clarko - Make Him an Offer He Can't Refuse!
For once I find myself agreeing with Garry Lyon. It's no secret, we're gonna need a new coach. It just so happens Hawthorn aren't resigning its coach until the end of the year. HELLO.
The numpty dumpty who extended Richo's contract at the end of last year can foot the bill for the remainder of his contract.

Well, you seemed a little apprehensive about the idea because of the Garry Lyon association.stonecold wrote:Where did I say that?????Sainternist wrote:You don't like the idea of having a four-time premiership coach? Clarko was once an assistant coach at the Saints so his ego might get him interested.

Indeed. I was going to google image search for a photo of him in the Saints garb to compliment my OP.saynta wrote:Clarko was once an assistant coach at the Saints so his ego might get him interested.

Thanks. There were a couple of much better photos, but they seem to be lost in the internet ether now.freely wrote:And I'll complement it for you - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/DObn6U4VwAAnhpV.jpgDarth Vader wrote:Well I’ll compliment it for you - good OP.Sainternist wrote:Indeed. Yes another gig as assistant coach to Richo would be a step forward. Richo needs another good experienced assistant. Clarko could be a useful asset in the coaches boxsaynta wrote:Clarko was once an assistant coach at the Saints so his ego might get him interested.

I reckon Dave from Murumbeena should call up Whately and suggest this. Much more relevant than VAR/Melbourne Victory stuff.thejiggingsaint wrote:Yes another gig as assistant coach to Richo would be a step forward. Richo needs another good experienced assistant. how could we possibly pay Clarkson 2 let alone 2.5 million per year
how
this is where the pencilpushers earn their keep
how could we do that

We are so flush we could do anything.
We threw a chunka cash at another premiership coach a few years back...
That turned out well.

Re: Clarko - Make Him an Offer He Can't Refuse!
The AFL is how. Don’t worry about what Gil says in the media about the bank being closed - they handed Roosy a blank cheque to get the Dees on the straight and narrow, I reckon they wouldn’t be far off doing the same for us.asiu wrote:how could we possibly pay Clarkson 2 let alone 2.5 million per year

Clarkson gets a 4 year coaching deal, we get a couple big name OOC players (Maybe Lynch FA and Wines traded in) and the “Flag by 2020” plan is back on!!!!!

Re: Clarko - Make Him an Offer He Can't Refuse!
the AFL is going to give / loan / guarantee 10 mill (4 years worth) for our 'new' Coach
is that possible ?
why would they do that ?
is there ... a cap / fund / source of $ that a Coach's payment must come from ?
we just copped a serve from that dawks maggot for trading whilst insolvent
and in the next breath that demons maggot is talking this shite
genuine questions ... i'm not one who see's this experience on Earth as an economic reality
... so i'm out of my depth in understanding the possibilities of the financial 'game'
how
why
we are on our pat malone as far as i can see
can a White Knight stump up the Coaches pay ?
is that legal

Re: Clarko - Make Him an Offer He Can't Refuse!
I think the best thing stated in that article is:
“IF ST Kilda is a ruthless, want to extend their premiership count beyond 1 type of club.....”
THATS the question cause n my mind for many years now we’ve become vanilla, AFL yes men bedwetters and we are suffering now because of it. Let’s face it, like him or not, the last time we had real swagger we had a mongrel like Lyon in charge - the players loved him, respected him........Clarkson would do same AND do u really think he’s going to allow dumb recruiters to keep bringing in no skilled HBF’s?
But we all know we ain’t bold enough unless Alan does the right thing, admits he’s had a good go and walks - at least Watson did that.

Fingers firmly crossed Alan does this. You can stick a fork in him, his tenure as the St.Kilda coach is DONE.Teflon wrote:But we all know we ain’t bold enough unless Alan does the right thing, admits he’s had a good go and walks - at least Watson did that.
