Been here through the good times, the hard times and the lean times. With a bit of luck we could have made the finals the last two seasons, but this year it looks like the same old underwhelmjng underachieving saints are back.

I go almost every home game, but without genuine endeavour from the coach and the team (even when lose) the motivation will be hard to keep up.

I remember thinking in pre season there was too many smiles and laughs going on. Things were too nice and comfortable. They thought natural progressikn would just happen, that purting in a good pre season would do it. NO. We needed a hard nosed ass out pre season.

You will NEVER give up. Youre a supporter. Our job is to support no matter what and hypothesise what we should do.

We need better HARDER coaches. We need to get experienced talent in Sloane Gaff Shie or Kelly.
And we need time into youngsters and next pre season better not be smiling and laughing and a good time.

Melbourne are inconsistent so this is the type of game they drop. I have been supporting the Saints a long time, and historically this is the type of game we lift for.
Talent-wise Melbourne have it all over us I'm afraid so we will have to bring a physical contest today. If we can out muscle them early we're in with a real chance, but my one query of Richardson is his approach to mentally preparing the team before games. Our players seem to take a quarter to warm up, and in some matches, like last week and against North and GWS we were lucky that they were inaccurate early, which left us in those games when we shouldn't have been.
This is one area which hasn't been highlighted by media or by the coaches in press conferences or football analysis tv programs, but I think it is as big a problem as our poor disposal and scoring conversion.
I believe by continuing to play Gilbert and bringing Armo back in is an indication that the club believe this is a very winnable game, which it is, however if we were to lose today I think our veterans need to come out of the side for the foreseeable future and the club need to select youth, rather than playing it safe. We might uncover some real talent.
