The Winter of Our Discontent
Acccording to Damien Barrett, our next win won't come until Round 17 against Carlton. As much as Barrett is a total muppet, his prediction doesn't seem off the mark. Man, this is so depressing

He's wrong. Parkeysainter, pebbles and takeaway know much more than The itks. Everything is great. We are only one win away from a late premiership run. How can you not believe those geniuses? Wow, he's smokin'. I'm beginning to think that Paulie, instead of being born at age 30 in 1982, was born 30 years after 1982!parkeysainter wrote:Ditto. Re: The Winter of Our Discontent
Far be it from me to suggest everything is hunkeydorey... me personally I’m well out on Richo... but we’re a better team than how we’ve been playing and there’s a storm brewing.
At some point we’re going to explode... not saying it’s this week and certainly not suggesting it will mean we’re back but a win is coming. Would love it to be against these jerks... we owe them a few

Re: The Winter of Our Discontent
I reckon we will too. We can't keep missing surely, and we'll click as a team soon. This week takes me back to a game in 1986 at Moorabbin when the President went down to the rooms and addressed the players - Gellie as coach didn't say nary a word. It was round 12 and we still hadn't broken through for a win yet that season.tony74 wrote:Will win on Sunday.
Gary Lyon played that day for Melbourne and he said that word got around that the President told the players - "This week, win. At any costs you must win. No excuses. Win."
He said that on that day at Moorabbin, players like Mace, Frawley, Lockett and Burns were absolutely physical at the ball and the opposition and the Saints were extremely intimidating.
We won by 10 goals.
Your friendly neighbourhood samurai.

Not sure if we’lll win but this is the type of game Melbourne would drop.
Tony, you are really putting your self out there. Either that or you’re posting when you’re s*** faced.

Re: The Winter of Our Discontent
Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths;
Our bruised arms hung up for monuments;
Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings,
Our dreadful marches to delightful measures.
Grim-visaged war hath smooth'd his wrinkled front;
And now, instead of mounting barded steeds
To fright the souls of fearful adversaries,
He capers nimbly in a lady's chamber
To the lascivious pleasing of a lute.
But I, that am not shaped for sportive tricks,
Nor made to court an amorous looking-glass;
I, that am rudely stamp'd, and want love's majesty
To strut before a wanton ambling nymph;
I, that am curtail'd of this fair proportion,
Cheated of feature by dissembling nature,
Deformed, unfinish'd, sent before my time
Into this breathing world, scarce half made up,
And that so lamely and unfashionable
That dogs bark at me as I halt by them;
Why, I, in this weak piping time of peace,
Have no delight to pass away the time,
Unless to spy my shadow in the sun
And descant on mine own deformity:
And therefore, since I cannot prove a lover,
To entertain these fair well-spoken days,
I am determined to prove a villain
And hate the idle pleasures of these days.
Plots have I laid, inductions dangerous,
By drunken prophecies, libels and dreams,
To set my brother Clarence and the king
In deadly hate the one against the other:
And if King Edward be as true and just
As I am subtle, false and treacherous,
This day should Clarence closely be mew'd up,
About a prophecy, which says that 'G'
Of Edward's heirs the murderer shall be.
Dive, thoughts, down to my soul
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.

Re: The Winter of Our Discontent
firstly the Discount tents sign is brilliant. The sliding doors weekly article said our worst case scenario will be that we don't win until Carlton which it will be
or close too. We probably will fluke a win between now and then but I hope we don't, I hope we play better rather than win and I want a high draft pick this year so keep losing, I don't care anymore as this season is dead now anyway and I want to something for it for all the pain it has caused us fans
Plus it may make Richo walk and we can get a better coaching team in

Re: The Winter of Our Discontent
Damien Barrett is a moron! What a ridiculous call.
I've got a feeling we'll be making a fool of him and Paul Roos on Sunday. Salem top end talent, really Roos?

Read what you like into it, I am and always have been StoneCold, never anyone else!!!!!sunsaint wrote:Hey mods can I read anything into the posts from Parkey stonecold and takeaway all responding in correct order and ten minutes apart?

I am not a poster with several identities, never have been, never will be!!!!!
I leave that to others: St.Paul, Drake and WW, all the same poster, despite claiming otherwise!!!!!
If I had to change my user, I would be man enough and honest enough to inform posters, not hide behind a new identify!!!!!
Can not speak for the other two as I am not them!!!!!
Hope that clears it up for you, have a good game people!!!!!
