Danie Mackenzie?
Where is he?
Whats he upto?
Theres been nothing on him, he was a top pick and after playing BOG first half vs bulldogs last year he had vanished
I get the feeling we are about to hear of him retiring from football.
Is this right?
Its like he club dont want to recognise him as a player when hes exactly what we need. Fast Tough winger

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
was knocked out a few weeks back playing for Sandringham.
Missed two games and the bye of course because of it.
No longer on the injury list so I guess he is available.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
Looked fast and tough and good overhead, a guy who could become a player.
Another that has stagnated and now looks lost and confused when he plays seniors.
Hard to think it is not a development issue at the club.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
Don't write him off yet.
He's only got about 12 half backs ahead of him right now
I reckon he is a player and just needs the chance again. String a few games together.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
Yeah it was a biggun.
I would actually say it was the worst on field collision that I have ever seen. He had the living pyss knocked out of him.
The next few minutes were quite concerning. He was not in a good way at all.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
Well all the best Daniel. Be great if you could bring that courage to the seniors but whatever is best for you young man. The club needs to give you every support.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
I thought he could really develop, and showed a lot of good signs in the seniors, but I'm thinking that Richo really isn't the development guru some make him out to be.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
I was very bullish about Daniel when he started but like so many other draftees over the last 5 years he has gone backwards. Our development of players is extraordinarily bad.
"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
Was always awkward on this guy since the moment we drafted him. Hoped I would be proven wrong and he'd work his backside off to become a really solid citizen.
Simply didn't have a standout skill. With that pick, I was dead keen on Touk Miller, who I thought would bring something quite unique to our midfield.
Then again, if Jayden Laverde had slipped one more spot, I would have taken him - and he's had roughly the same career as McKenzie.
Hard to make a case for McKenzie to get another year. Then again, Nathan Wright was drafted in 2012.

Clueless and mediocre petty tyrant.

Wright has had an amazing career. For it to last this long is a fair effort considering his skill levelevertonfc wrote:Was always awkward on this guy since the moment we drafted him. Hoped I would be proven wrong and he'd work his backside off to become a really solid citizen.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
I still reckon D'Mac is a player.
He has decent wheels and he isn't horrendous with the ball. I reckon he has been unlucky and has not really had any continuity in the seniors. One week in, sixteen weeks out.
Could still put it together.

Re: Danie Mackenzie?
our club is one of the worse developers in the AFL.Selhurst Saint wrote:I was very bullish about Daniel when he started but like so many other draftees over the last 5 years he has gone backwards. Our development of players is extraordinarily bad.
It's fact; have a look at our players who have gone backwards.
Other clubs get value out of Talia, Rampe, Higgins, Bontempelli, etc.
If we had those guys in our colours, they'd be stuck in babypoo colours of the Zebs forever,
just treading water.
A real Sainter will pledge allegiance to the ❤ and despise the Pies, the Blues, and the Injectors.
