Not sure about the stands but the ground was used by Moorabbin FC prior to the Saints moving there.

I'm guessing that the ground was established late 1950's.

No one has it yet, so I may have to post another question. I'll put up the answers to the original when I get home (don't have the book at work).

New Question -

The proposed move of St Kilda to Moorabbin hit a snag in 1964 when the council requested St kilda change its name to StKilda/Moorabbin, and, after a certain amount of time, to just Moorabbin. How many years was the Club to be known as St Kilda/Moorabbin before dropping the "St kilda" portion of the name?

The Moorabbin News of March 26, 1964, announced to its readers that their Council had offered the St Kilda Football Club the Moorabbin Oval in Linton Street as its home ground. While final agreement had not been reached at that time, progress must have pleased many of the councillors for they had been trying to entice a League team to Moorabbin for more than a year. The Fitzroy club had inspected the Linton Street ground as had the Richmond club but they failed to take up the Councilâ€™s offer. [1]

The expectation was that the Moorabbin Football Club, the occupier of the Linton Street oval and the winner of a Victorian Football Association premiership flag the previous year, would amalgamate with the Saints. The new team would be known as the St Kilda â€“ Moorabbin Football Club for ten years, after which time the St Kilda part of the title would be dropped. Cr Don Bricker, the president of the Moorabbin club was cautiously optimistic about the new developments but many Moorabbin members feared that their club would lose its identity. In fact, the naming provision was later dropped as the St Kilda constitution expressly prohibited a club name change without gaining the agreement of three quarters of its membership, an impossible target.

We beat Hawthorn at the Junction by 109 points in (I think) 1950.

Not sure about the bonus question, though?

Yes, Riccardo 1950 (round 2). Well done.
This is our most long standing greatest winning margin record.
In fact five of the greatest winning margins have been set in the last two seasons - can you quickly name those before you pose your next Q?

Saints V WCE 169 - 68 (2004)
Saints V Brisbane 186 - 47 (2005)

The obvious ones are R22, 2005 V Brisbane and R10 and R11, 2004 Vs West Coast Eagles and Carlton, respectively.

At a guess, I'd go this years game against the Demons at the MCG (80-something points) and probably the 91 point thrashing we gave the Blues in 03.

St Kilda recorded back-to-back 100 point wins in 2004 for the first time in Club history. Name the last side to achieve such a feat.

wasn't it 2004?
I know we did 4 in a row by 10+ goals this year, but not back-to-back 100 point wins... (of course, every game next year will be won by 100+ points...)

They beat the Saints by 119 in R7
then the Bears by 129
and finished off by smashing the tiggers by 134 in R9

Re the previous Q I have the wobbles in R17 2005 by 73 points - that makes 5 records.

Geelong was the club, I think they also did it in 1992 after walloping the Bears at Carrara.

Geelong it was - but it was 1992!!

Smashed the Bears by 164 in R7 (sixth highest winning margin game ever) and then beat Adelaide by 123 in R8.

OK next Q - another easy? one.

In 2004 we kicked the season off with 10 wins - a new record.
Prior to that our best had been 8 in a row in 1966.

The Saints haven't always been the best starters - prior to 1966 (with 8) what was our best start to a season and in which year?
