Eric Bana - can you pay richo’s contract out...please!!

Post: # 1723292Post Saint wagga »

Bana, Fox, Summers...any of you rich buggers...please put us all out of our misery and sack the coach! He’s not doing it on purpose, but neither did the skipper of the Titanic...Richo is currently skippering a sinking ship! We are a rabble. It’s not ‘all’ Richo’s fault, but as soon as the heat has come, he has completely lost it, lost the players, lost the supporters. Our rebuild has completely stalled and now gone backwards. Someone rich, please help us save face and move on! SOS Leigh Mathews!!

I’d vote for Summers to pay-up first right now. He is the President of the Board that ratified the Beige Fool being given a contract extension after all.

Absolutely disgusting. So - tell me who was going to come knocking and poach him from under our noses?!?!

Here’s the thing....... supposing, JUST supposing any of these “ rich buggers “ were to subscribe to this ( ahem ) “ idea” and pay out Alan Richardson with immediate effect, just WHO would you have in mind to replace him as senior coach? Floating Leigh Mathews’ name as an “ SOS” illustrates perfectly just what an act of absolute hysteria and panic this is. IF the senior coach is to be dismissed, then it needs to be done with clinical precision: I/e with a clear cut candidate ready to be installed as a replacement. AND it needs to be done at the conclusion of this season, NOT midway through. I’ll be honest and say, I have not a solitary clue as to just WHO is both AVAILABLE and COMPETENT enough to step in and take the group forward. So what I would suggest is that the senior coach be allowed to get on with his job until the conclusion of this season. Knee- jerk sackings do NOTHING to improve matters.

Agreed Jiggers. Richo isn't the main problem. Not even close to be honest. The players are playing like s*** plus their execution of basic skills and goal kicking is deplorable. They know it just like we do.

I agree you want it to be clinical and have a replacement straight away ideally. If this train wreck of a season continues, why wait until September to make the change?

Surely it’s better to ditch Richo in say July/early August and if necessary have a temporary coach for the rest of the season if the wanted coach isn’t yet available (if it is someone involved with another club).

After Round 11/mid season if we only win one more game until then Richo will be as good as gone I sense.

I have a crazy idea about who it might be.
Anybody involved in elite road cycling would know the name,
that's my hint.

p.s. I have zero knowledge, just a crazy idea, from left field.
He was on the board of directors, recently.
Unsure if he's still there.
He has a lot of sporting interests.
Highly decorated for sports contributions

Okay, and the “ temporary coach” would be.........?????? One of the current crop of assistants? REALLY? Do we do another “Malcolm Blight”? With all the baggage that goes with it? This “ train wreck” of a season is only a quarter of the way through, are we really that ready to give up? Okay! I’ll answer that by saying, “ Yes, the jigs up, it’s all over” Well hell, let’s make sure we get the best draft picks! ( I don’t believe that by the way!)
I was there last night in tassie and it was a bloody awful RESULT, however, I still saw plenty of things that bode well, for our future. This is the time for COOL HEADS & STRONG NERVE! Give the club until season’s end and let’s get behind them!

Richo isn't going anywhere soon unless we pay him out. I don't buy he will quit at year end if we are still bad. He will view it as a challenge and that we are just about to turn the corner. And we can't afford to so look on the bright side, draft pix

The AFL is like the Catholic Church, the Banking Mafia, and other fascist
institutions.
Damage Control, brand protection, etc.

They have one of their own installed at our club to keep an eye on things.
A double agent.
The ugly man who was friends with a rugby player's wife (why she would choose
butt-ugly over a muscly athlete is beyond common sense)
If he sensed any rumblings, he would report to Nazi HQ quick smart.
They would do something about it.

Club can't afford this, publicly or financially.
Just won't happen.
If the board is spilled, I suspect AR keeps his job but some of his
assistants get the DCM letter (don't come Monday)
and Jamie Cox gets replaced by somebody eminently qualified
who can lord it over AR
so AR remains as coach, in name,
keeps doing those boring repetitive monotone emails,
but the Director of Coaching will be the one pulling the strings.

i don't think Richo has learnt a thing in 5 years.
Most of the guys have gone backwards.
I suspect he is so strong in self-belief (of his own plans/ideas)
that he's scared to change tack - a sign of weakness maybe?

Club says publicly that he's the guy.
I don't think he is,
but he needs a very strong head ABOVE him to pull the strings, someone who has been there
and has knowledge and history.
Club needs to find a mentor for him.
Like I said above.

Hi Wells, you clearly haven't had a chance to read up on Catholic Social Teaching principles. Fascism isn't amongst them. http://www.caritas.org.au/learn/catholi ... l-teaching
However I can see why you might think that it is. Sadly, too many self-professed Catholics don't seem to have read up on Catholic Social Teaching either. :(

And whilst not defending Leflean's actions, maybe some girls manage to work out that intellect and personality count for more than muscles in the long run? (Though to be fair to your good self Wells, having both bases covered, you've possibly never needed to consider which is the more important. :) )

GT in the Balmey type role. Lenny as a senior assistant. Bring back Roo in some capacity. Consultant, assistant, anything!

I’d forgo that new 1.000 seat grandstand if we could tip some of Big Ears touted $13M into getting Clarko.

I’d even offer my left nut.

Jonesy can offer his right one!

The media are questioning Worsfold as a coach now, so maybe we could do a swap for Richo- a change of scene for both coaches might freshen things up a bit.

Dear GOD! A “straight swap” SO, all we need to do is “freshen things up a bit” (?!?!?!) and bringing in Worsfold would do that(?) I’ve always been wary of it in the past, but before making a move like THAT, I’d prefer to see Robert Harvey or Choco Williams get the gig.

A change is as good as a holiday jiggy 8-)
