anyone got reports from training?

Boys getting a spring back in their step?

god i hope we take it to the hawks and follow on from last week...a performance reminiscent of the first few rounds would just about kill me!

Vibes good. Lot more vocal than previous. Coaches have listened and stopped the overload of information and rules. Think it will be Jimmy for Hunter.

Hmmm, sounds about right but J.Bi and J.Gr would have to be feeling the blowtorch imo.

Thanks 74

Good on the coaches for being prepared to listen and take constructive feedback.

I was on a recent trip where a squad for a club all performed poorly at a national trial, instead of reflecting and taking feedback on the preparation the well paid coach was scathing of his charges who have a very good competition record.

Needless to say he is very likely to been on seek.com pretty soon.

Well done Richo, lets hope the endeavor from last week continues against the Hawks.

Let the players play! They got to where they are due to their ability. The game plan should be to use those abilities not constrain them. The game plan should be based on a theory not hard and fast rules that cannot be broken! Give the players ownership of their actions and good things will come!

well big question marks over richo's ability to develop a workable gameplan, but at least he isn't from the same dictatorial mould of watters or neeld.

I know you can't say too much tony74, but as a true ITK, I and I imagine many others on here would love to know what you think is wrong at the moment. I had an ugly feeling late last year that 2018 might not live up to expectations, and the preseason filled me with dread. So why have we slide so dramatically since thrashing Richmond last year? I put some of it down to the retirement of Roo, but that can't be the complete answer. Are you able to give an opinion, without divulging secrets or betraying confidences?

1 important question please. I haven't read other posts in the countless threads going on so not sure if this has alraedy been talked about. In the first quarter when it was clear that clean possession was paramount and if you couldn't handle a wet footy you were stuffed, I thought to my self I wonder if they trained accordingly.

Did our boys train this week in wet slippery conditions?

We knew we'd be playing in Tassie in a night match, so if we did not train with a greasy slippery footy then we are bunch of fuckn suburban amatuers and we deserve to get spanked every week

How can the club continue to scapegoat Armo whilst supporting the usual losers with selection?

Richo would probably say, yep, that’s a good idea didn’t think of that or some cop out garbage. I highly doubt he’s cluey enough for that sort of thinking - it’s not part of the stats or game plan.

Which stats
- the ones that say Richo has won 1 in three games?
+ or the ones that say we kick 1 in 3 goals?

Which game plan?
- the one that says we need 18 players around the ball to win it so there is no-one forward of the ball when we do get it?

Quite clearly no-one has been at training for a long time.
This can easily be deduced from the game against Hawthorn.

The club reminds me of the British car industry a few decades ago, when unions
ran amok, and the cars were not so much assembled as thrown together
with no skill or **** care at all...

the Japanese showed the world how to build quality
the English bosses took no notice coz it would cost to re tool

i rode Triumphs ... the real ones
the missus (before the real one) drove an MG
we were drowning in Hillmans , Morris and Zephers

n u wanna blame the unions ..... please explain

So players in charge? Is Newnes defacto captain? Game reviews actually avoid any individual criticism? Is it physically possible to train for AFL so that the mass swarming approach can not inevitably cause group fatigue fade outs in the last quarters of an AFL game - Carlton might just use the rope a dope tactic on us because as the season gets older players burn out.
What do we know: there is little team work; out of form players do not get dropped; "desperation" is the answer; we need to keep teams to 50 points to have a chance; we cannot link with footpassing; to kick more than 10 goals we need about 40 shots inside 50 metres; the mid field is poor and needs refreshing. The coaching staff are out of ideas and now in personal survival mode. Gresham, Billings and Sinclair cannot score unless within 35 meters of goal. Coffield is good, Carslisle is good, some others may be good but style of play and poor mids means one might never really know. Training by rote 980 methods?
