Not a bad crowd considering we only got 19K vs Adelaide and how we have been playing.

Re: Small crowd
Metro line closures east of city would have kept a few fans away.
Replacement buses between Camberwell and city added 30 minutes to journey time each way.
I know - I was dopey enough to take the replacement bus and arrived 20 mins into 1st quarter.

Re: Small crowd
The 14,900 Saints fans were making a lot of noise in the last quarter.

Low scoring but pulsating contest. Never a boring minute. Rare to see in any match/any teamsaynta wrote:Fans who didn't go missed a great match.

Staggered into The Dome we call Home suffering from terminal jet-lag, and with little appetite for the game, but those of us who were there saw a great effort from both the team and the crowd. Good to be back. See youse in Tassie next week! GO SAINTS!

Why?? I am a paid up member and contributed plenty to the club this year through memberships and reserved seats at Etihad. If I choose not to waste a few hours watching the crap that had been served up the previous few weeks, that's my prerogative.felix wrote:If any one boycotted due to previous performances ..hang your head in shame.
I will get along to the next game because I saw a totally different mindset out there today - even if they'd lost today, I loved what I saw and would still go next week against Hawthorn. Have you ever thought that our guys looked up today and thought jeepers, we have lost our fans, we'd better extract the digit today.

No I don't think the team looked up at at the first bounce & collectively decided to pull the finger out.silverhalo wrote:Why?? I think it had far more to do with the weeks training, preparation & pre-match
As for our 40,000+ members...
Awww was it too hard getting to the ground ?
Is it getting a bit cold for you to step outside ?
Is it more convenient to sit in front of the big screen at home ?

The philosophy is why go if they don’t even look like they’re trying.. yesterday restored the faith, effort and commitment is what fans are looking for.. not just ‘winning’

Re: Small crowd
At what point have they ever looked like they are not trying? Certainly not the Geelong game, skills and decision making lacking, not effort. Don't have an issue with those that can't get to a game, but if there are people who deliberately didn't go because we have been losing I think it is pretty poor. The same people are happy to sit on the computer and pot players, coaches and administrators for lacking effort or ability, yet they have one job as a supporter and it is as simple as turn up and make some noise, and they can't do it.mightysainters wrote:The philosophy is why go if they don’t even look like they’re trying.. yesterday restored the faith, effort and commitment is what fans are looking for.. not just ‘winning’
