Carlisle free kick
I thought he was infringed, despite not taking the mark to a ball directed two feet over his head. What did everyone else think?

I don't think so. He wrapped them up all game... If he got his mitts around it Davis had no hope. Unfortunate

High contact. Definite marking interference. Whistle was put away. But Carlisle should have taken it one grab.

I didnt see much wrong with it. He got a clean slap on the ball after Jake spilt it. I was more disappointed he didnt clunk it. So was he

Re: Carlisle free kick
Very unlucky. Would have got paid 9 times out of 10 during any other part of the game, but should have marked it still.

His hands were to flat the ball bounced out and then Davis hit the ball away with his fist.portosaint wrote:I don't think so. He wrapped them up all game... If he got his mitts around it Davis had no hope. Unfortunate
Davis going for the ball, no free.
Carlisle dropped the mark but Jack Steven delivered the ball too long and high.
The kick needed to be in front of Carlisle so Davis is out of the picture but likely to give away a free for crashing into the back of Carlisle if Carlisle drops the mark.

Yep.
Also, Paddy was infringed against on at least two occassions
where the maggots must have been looking the other way.

Re: Carlisle free kick
It looked like a free but haven’t seen the reply.
Umpiring was pathetic. A joke actually. Really sick and tired of it.
They put the whistle away when it came to us.
Loved the free to GWS when player was taken out by his own team mate.
Brilliant!

One thing that 2009/10 should have shown us is that it is never, ever just that one moment.

Re: Carlisle free kick
It's one of the 50/50 ones. 50% of the time it would be paid against us and 50% of the time it would be play on.
As you would know, I am generally very critical of Jack's disposal, which was poor in the first half today too. However, I think his kick was pretty good given the circumstances. Jake was dead on his feet having played a great game.ace wrote:Carlisle dropped the mark but Jack Steven delivered the ball too long and high.

Free kick every day of the week and that d**khead Umpire was 20 metres away with a clear view of it.desertsaint wrote:watching it i thought it was fine, but the front on photo shows he is clearly in a headlock on the second attempt. Our luck.

A bit of an old-fashioned coathanger, but umpire was on wrong side to see it, and well disguised by Davis.

Re: Carlisle free kick
Just blatant cheating no other explanation. To the clowns saying he should have marked it pull your heads out your arse. Throw in when Gilbert copped s push in the back as he kicked and we were running into a open goal and they took it back. Taking a set shot off Hickey as well shows they cheat.
