Even if we were playing well, GWS are the better team by at least 4 goals. I just hope we give them a red hot crack.

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
20 points - I think it will be reasonably close for most of the game. If, like we did against Richmond last year in round 16, we actually kick straight, who knows? I think that at one stage against Richmond we kicked 15 goals straight against them going from 5 goals 8 behinds to 20 goals 8 behinds - or something like that. That's what I call scoreboard pressure.

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
we have lost by about 50 points the last 3 games. I am expecting the same. Not being negative but what has changed since last week? Members is back which is great but we lost Roberton and Marshall. GWS are top of the table for a reason and let be honest, we are in the bottom 3 for a reason.
I will be there front and centre today as be always to support the team and if the long bombs stop Ill be happy. Well less frustrated. And that is a start

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
GWS will be looking for a percentage booster.
If we lose by about 50 points I won't be shattered. If we lose by over 50 I won't be surprised
I'll be there cheering on our boys and supporting the club

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
expecting to loose by around 450 points .... possible first ever use of a mercy rule at 3/4 time may see the margin under 400 ...... should be a close first first seconds ..... GO SAINTS !!!

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
i predict this site will shut down during the match (again).
by the time it is back online the added frustration of a non-functiong site, the extra booze drunken in that time waiting, and our dismal performance worsening over the course of the game will see an avalanche of anger poured out on these pages.
I'll go with a one hundred point loss in the hope that i will be pleased it didn't eventuate and become a positive poster.

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
You alluded in the lovely thread about Richo to some possible “events in the next few days” that may make a difference to our performance. Did those events eventually eventuate? Will that cause us to put up a better showing? Will there still be a hard core of nuff-nuffs populating SS in the event of a better showing?saynta wrote:I am betting they will put up a better show this week.

Can we forfeit? What's the go with that percentage wise (we might actually gain some percentage)?sainter104 wrote:expecting to loose by around 450 points .... possible first ever use of a mercy rule at 3/4 time may see the margin under 400 ...... should be a close first first seconds ..... Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
I expect a a bit of fire...this is it. Richo must be terminated and players axed if we do need compete for 4 quarters. Everyone onfield is healthy...if not fire selection committee.
Any player good enough to stand on the turf is good enough...I firmly believe this ..it doesn't mean they will gather 70 disposals or kick 14 goals...but if you are a professional afl player on game one or 89 you can play...so do it.
The thing is an under 9 player can have passion and desire and an insatiable quest to gather the ball and a tenacious attitude to attack...it is not innate for AFL seniors players only...if we fail as an organization to show this attitude then we need to chop it down...I mean fire Richo and Co ( wait till season end but confirm roles now with the following):
# a director of footy Brad Scott ..next Rodney Eade ( I guess 9 finals appearances sa16 seasons is ok record?) unlikely Neil Balme at Richmomd or Brett Rutten is willing or Mick Malthouse is rumoured to be willing to step into this type of role...and we need a director with winning experience who has both sucked and triumphed)
# a head coach:Brenton Sanderson or Leigh Tudor, a great choice or John Barker: Alastair Clarkson says he's the best head coach in waiting...but what would he know? Oh! That's right 6 of his assistants are now senior coaches!!
I also would go Blake Caracella, Dean Solomon or Matthew Knights.
If you want experienced coaches...well there's only Brad Scott, Paul Roos, Matthew Knight, Rodney Eade, Brett Rutten, Leppitsch, would Scott Campereole leave Crows? And about 50 other coaches
# coach midfield Sam Mitchell: Hawks champion, four premierships, five best and fairests, three All Australian selections and a Brownlow Medal he is a well regarded leader. He finished at West Coast and with a planned role in coaching as part of his move west he shares the assistant coach midfield job with Van Berlo. But not for long, he may be the fastest mover up the ladder
# coach forward: Brendon Lade ( wants top job so doubt it) or Steve Johnson: 2018 with his 1st assistant coaching role at the Swans. He has a good reputation for directing play and would bring the mongrel with brains attitude we need.
# Performance Coach AFL/VFL/WAFL: Sean Dempster: Hawthorn- working in the high-performance department, focusing on the VFL team and academy.
#Head of Development: Drew Petrie: North Melboure star and AFL life member finished at West Coast after one season on the rookie list, has a role as Game Development Head Coach, overseeing coaching of the club’s academies while also supporting new draftees with their AFL transition and prospective female coaches with their coaching development. A pretty big role for a massive bloke and words is he could go as far up as he wants at West Coast. We need him both in the men's and upcoming women's team.
# coach defenders/ backline: Darren Glass - pinch him from Hawthorn at all costs...we need a guy to mentor Austin and Goddard.
# Coach (stoppages and opposition) Gary Hocking...can we get him? Rumour is he wants a change...
# coach Ruck: Daien Monhorst : Hawthorn...enough said or Shane Mumford:Playing across Geelong, Sydney and finally GWS starts 2018 as a part-time ruck coach. Steal him before he gets too successful...words is the big man is very clever and incredible at mentoring.
# Recruiting: Andrew Mackie: another triple premiership Geelong player has a starting role in recruiting and talent identification with Geelong, again try to price him away to us.

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
I’m torn
They’ve been belted by media so sheer pride alone should see an improvement GWS by 4 and we’ve done ok
It’ll be the “come down” game next week after a good performance that’ll show where we really are...

Re: for the posters without the rose colored glasses.
I know of a nice holiday resort in Guyana that would be an ideal place for posters on this thread to hold a convention. I would expect an outcome that would resolve the Saints woes and deliver at least 10 premierships in the next 15 years.
