Thread of positivity

Post: # 1720849Post Milne »

We've all (rightly) had a massive rant about the state of our club this season.

However, we all all very passionate saints fans who want our club to succeed, so what are some of the positives for us die hard saints supporters to cling onto right now?

The room behind reception at Moorabbin is nicely carpeted...oh, and a couple young guys making an impact early. I like.

The team has hit rock bottom so you'd like to think that things can only get better

Clarke, Coffield, Clavarino, Gresham, Blacres, Battle, Marshall, Steele and Billings. The base foundation looks promising. As always, we are going to have to wait a while, or so it seems. Maybe we're back at 2002-3. The upside is the club as a whole will have to pop down to the glass factory, purchase a mirror and have a bloody good look at itself!

Hopefully every aspect of the business will be put under the microscope and the necessary changes are made. We are only ever a couple of wins from a change in the current mood, although I admit, it's hard to see that happening in the next few weeks.

We've had periods over the last couple of years' where things haven't worked, then we've had periods where things have worked really well. Let's hope it was one of the lulls rather than an overall change for the worse.

Our best (games against GWS and Richmond in 2017) is competitive and high level.

Closing the gap between our not best (trying to stay upbeat in the positive thread) and our best is central to improving.

A lot of good points there.

Except for the coaching. Since Round 17 last season, we’ve been losing by an average margin of 40 points thereabouts. Far from what I would call “good and stable coaching group.”

We haven't lost by 100+ points yet this year (even though we have been terrible) - That's positive and pleasing. :)
