Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 4 2018
This was always going to be a transition year, with a real lack of onfield leadership.
But this is really just showing up some of our 70-120 game guys.
Not good enough. Just not good enough.
Seems like a bunch of these guys reckon it is just gonna happen.
Lucky to be within six goals at the half.
Take a long hard look Saints. This is unacceptable.

How physically weak are we? How many uncontested marks have they taken in packs.!We're weak in the contest and weak in the air. To top it off, our skills are laughable.

The coach has lost the players. They are not buying whatever he's trying to sell. Forget talent, systems, structures. There is no heart on that ground. None.

Players don't look interested, how many more chances will Lonie get to come in and do stuff all. He may be good at VFL level but he isn't up to AFL standard so stop persisting with him.. haven't noticed him.

Lonie is just not good enough.
Does not matter how many goals he kicks for Sandringham.

Only 29 points the diff at half time.
Imagine if we actually started playing!

How many of our players that we thought were going to be good have gone backwards over the last 2 years?
Newnes is one, Billings another.

Think of me long enough to make a memory.

Coaching staff looking for a rock to hide under? Battle is going to be good. Billings and Gresham way down on confidence. They will come good in time as will Paddy.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 4 2018
we are still in this. well could be, if the players gave half a s***. worse thing is our seniors (bar geary) look least concerned.
our setup and run with just looks like junior footy standard. handicapped by poor coaching, but gee give a bit more effort fellas. stepped up a little at the end and we kick a couple. just back yourselves and give it all.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 4 2018
Very poor effort up to the last 5 minutes.
Shocking field kicking and kicking for goal.
Terrible structure up forward, out-numbered at nearly every contest.
Surely this has to be Lonie's last chance. One kick to my reckoning and that went out on the full.

Maybe, but at least we took some advantage.

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 4 2018
Lonie, Long & Gresham have done nothing on a wet night. What are they in for?
Why can't Carlisle hit a target that's all of 15 metres away? Why? He intercepts marks but can't play on a player. He is slightly overrated imho.

As ex-president Peter Summers said:

St Kilda - At least we have a Crest!

Re: Match Thread Saints v Cats Round 4 2018
Hard to know where to start.
Structures are a mess, so are skills, vision, and decision making. Ball just doesnt come into forward line properly.. They kick blindly forward
Worst part is attitude, there just doesnt seem to be any fight although to be fair the last 5 minutes of the half there was a spark, But this might have been Geelong taking the foot of the pedal This
Players like gresh, Ross, Newnes, Gilbert and Billings are not a shadow of what they were last year.
Hickey and Lonie will have their papers stamped never to play again after today, Players like Long and White are nowhere near it.
Only positives would be Marshall, MaCartin, Coffield, Carlisle and Geary.
They promised a big effort this week but it looks no different from any other game this year
