Re: Team v cats
I still can't see where the goals are going to come from with this team. Key forwards Acres / McCartin does not excite me - Blake might be good for a couple, but then you're relying on Billings / Sinclair / Gresham to come to the party. Surely this was the time to bring in specialist forward Josh Battle.
Maybe they're planning to ruck Hickey and play Marshall down forward - I would be open to that.

Really hope our small forwards run amuck.

he really has no clue.
If the boys miss several shots in the 1st qtr, the Cats- like any pro team, will smell blood,
and bring all their pressure.
Our guys have no ability to regroup.
They become roos in the headlights and just panic.
Watch for Ross kicking blindly to nobody, and handpassing to a team-mate who's got 3 Cats nearby.
Ross is hopeless at choosing wisely. Geez, he can get high numbers, but FFS he is a liability.
I expect 10 goals plus drubbing.

This is the most exciting team richo has picked in 5 years, unless Froffield is dropped - that would be insane.
Just have to reward Lonie, no matter how much people hate him… make it count son.

Hickey, Lonie, Coffield, Clark is about as unpredictable as we could go with.
Predictable would be Longer, Weller, Stevens, Armo

I wish he didn't kick 4.4, too, but you need to reward VFL formfugazi wrote:Lonie in...honestly no idea!

Be nice to be looked after by the AFL and not be playing this game at Geelong. I’d say we’d win this at Etihad and be 60/40 at the G. Just another leg up a majority of Vic clubs.

Richo keeps picking the same blokes, who keep
letting everyone down.
If its not Lonie its Wright, why doesn’t he play the kids he’s supposed to be great at developing rather than those two spuds!!
Game plan predictable- 3 tall forwards and kick it to the top of the square

Re: Team v cats
Except if Bruce is dropped that means that we only have McCartin as our number one forward and Marshall who obviously is not quite up to it yet. No Battle (coming in for Membrey - same type of player I've been told) baffles the brain!saintbob wrote:dragit wrote:Predictable?saintbob wrote:Richo is so predictable

You sound a bit like me most weeks but… I reckon he is playing plenty of kids this week, the backline is a still a little stodgy but:saintbob wrote:why doesn’t he play the kids
Marshall, Paddy, Gresham, Long, Acres, Sinclair, Billings, White, Dunstan, Steele, Clark, Lonie, Coffield - how many of these guys are older than 23?

Re: Team v cats
I’m glad they’ve swing the axe again. Not unhappy with Bruce & Armo getting a run at Sandy - and couldn’t work out why Wright got a game last week. Paddy is one more bad game away from also playing at Sandy - particularly if Battle or Bruce have a strong game this weekend.
Gain A lot of flexibility with the ins this week. Hickey frees up Marshall to get a run up forward at some stage and possibly stretch the defence as he can take a 1 grab contested mark (unlike 2 grab Bruce) Sinclair & Acres to rotate wing & forward. Clark can go just about anywhere. Steele hopefully goes into the guts.
Surprised to see Long, Gresh and Lonie. Geez you have to reward 4.4 from Lonie though.
Jack Newnes a bit lucky imho. He can’t be far away from a spell at Sandy.
White on a wing - will he get enough of it ?. Surprisingly his kicking was off last week- perhaps a little extra time and space on a wing and we seem him revert back to those beautiful long penetrating kicks to a target.
I’ve been doom and gloom since JLT1 this year but I’m sensing this week things might see the first green shoots.

Re: Team v cats
Please not Lonie. He has been found wanting too often at this level.
I would have liked to see Battle in if Bruce is dropped. Surely with Membrey and Bruce out it is the time to give him a chance.
