Saints going after Dylan Shiel
Story came out we are going after Dylan Shiel.
I’m a bit confused didn’t he resign for 2 years end of last year?
How does that work then?
He would be amazing for us it was mentioned in Triple M and in the Herald Sun.
That’s the level we need he is a South East boy even though he barracked for the Blues.

Contracted until 2019.
Going after him just means we will phone his manager offering a huge amount of money and he will politely tell us to gagf.
Of course we will make him an offer. Every club will.
This is just something the club leaks to give us plebs hope in the future.
Same as Kelly last year and Fyfe before that.

Would be a good get of course if possible. Would have to trade for him. Its the only way.Vazelos wrote:Story came out we are going after Dylan Shiel.

I can’t get into the Herald Sun article to read the details has anyone read the article?
Con I can’t argue with your opinion at this stage I don’t know how he can be available if he is contracted to end of 2019.

Story is not that we are going after Shiel...
It is the author saying we "SHOULD" go after Shiel.
Big difference.

Would be an almighty get if we got him, but like Martin, Fyfe and Kelly, unless we pretty much double what he’s already on (which would be stupid), he wouldn’t want to come near us.

...and after focusing on Longer as trade for a sentence or so, points out he's got little currency and that we'd need to satisfy GWS's requirement for top 'next tier' talent, like Marshall. So, rob Peter to pay Paul in some respects, given we have little depth anywhere but possibly our half-back line.bigred wrote:Story is not that we are going after Shiel...

So, not sure how we'd do the trade, or whether Chocco wanting to see more of his daughter would make Shiel throw in a potential premiership to start at close to bottom again.

I would disagree with the author.bigred wrote:

If this year is a super draft, I would rather use our first round draft pick than trading it for any player. Plus the money we save...
Whatever happens, the club has a lot of variables to weigh up before making a decision.
