Billings

Post: # 1717902Post Scollop »

Guys like Newnes and Webster are in the team for their courage. Why do we carry passengers like Billings when he shows none what-so-ever? Maybe the development of this kid is totally sh1t and the coaches have no idea how to use him. Either way how the hell can the coach justify playing him next week?

Also, he can't get any elevation on his kicks, which all opposition have worked out and so he's an easy touch.

Billings 4 kicks and 2 tackles.
Gresham 6 & 0.
Effort from both was embarrassing.

Billings and Gresham are the cream, not the engine room.

Their ability to impact the result will always be affected by what’s happening up the ground.

Billings will be fantastic icing if we ever get a cake.

But in a struggling team he us not a matchwinner.

Billings needs an AFL body....cannot put on muscle and starting to look like he is unwilling to crack in.

What's muscle got to do with courage? Does White or Long get a game because of their muscles? Did Kade Simpson play 200+ because he's muscly?

We are not even 'flat track bullies' - we are moderators - we win, if we are allowed to.

We should be sponsored by Communists - we are so prepared to give everyone an equal chance of beating us - we need to find some mongrel, and a good start to that would to actually be 'Flat Track Bullies'.

Haha. What about the posters who claim that he is elite and A grade. He is NOT. I've said it adnauseum. He was drafted for his kicking skills. He looks like a beautiful kick, as most left footers do. But he's actually a very ordinary kick and it's as frustrating as hell.

Billings could not lay a tackle tonight and got shrugged off by Crows players with so much ease, it was embarrassing to watch. Nowhere good enough in his fifth season now ffs. Soft and nothing inspiring in his play. An oppotunist at best when he gets it delivered to him on a plate.

Billings should not be picked next week. If Mav is available he should be in for Billings.
We will loose anyway so hopefully it shows him that mediocrity doesn’t get u games of afl football

We've also said it too. The old man picked it early saying that Billings reminds him of Aaron Fiora, only that Fiora was a better mark. Another failed pick.

Patrick Cripps is also miles ahead of him from that 2013 draft and he was pick 13.

Agree - Unfortunately they are amongst our highest rated players (in terms of draft picks) - the rebuild is looking like really bad reading unfortunately - these guys are guns but right now does that help us ?

Play him off half back.
Surely his decision making and delivery will surpass that of Webster and Newnes!

Ive got this feeing he aint happy at saints and wants to go to essendon

If so? Fine pick 8 & 26 from ess in this years draft.

Obviously lets see how the year goes but if this keeps up we need to hit this super draft bigtime!!

Pick 1, 8, 26 (billings), 36
We need tough skilled midfielders.
We have forward targets. Battle, membrey bruce, mccartin, acres. We have small forwards in gresham, long
We should sacrifice billings for more of a mid gun in this superdraft.

Bloody hell this joint is odd.

Post Rd 1 Billings was on the verge of A grade and post Rd 3 he is now tradeable in the space of 2 weeks.
2 years ago he was a dud and this year he is becoming a superstar also.

f*** me drunk. Billings is only 22 or 23 and is a good B grade player at the moment. He clearly has the potential to slip into the A grade bracket or somewhere in between A and B. You don't get rid of a guy in his age bracket that can play footy. He had an ordinary game this week. Stiff s***. He went up against a top 3 defence in the league. He will have plenty more stinkers across his career but alot more better ones. Still averaging 22 possies a game.
