Re: Paddy
very disappointing, but let's give him the year - it's not like playing him will cost us a finals spot.

Re: Paddy
Yeah not great but like Long and Hunter, we need them to play most of the season
I have Koby and Savage there too. There’s 5 players who could be anything.

Let's get some games into the kid.
FFS.
But he can barely run.
Has no athletic ability at all.
Do we just play him because he was pick 1 in the draft 4 years ago?

FFS.
Has played half the number of games of others.
He, Bruce and Membrey need a whole lot of games together to work this out.
I see a lot to like. Work in progress.

Re: Paddy
Paddy is like the Sagrada Familia. Full of promise, but will take another 100 years to complete. Moves about as quickly, too.

Re: Paddy
Petracca in the forward line with short bursts in the midfield would have been nice.

Re: Paddy
I'm calling it now that Paddy won't make the grade at this level. I don't know what people saw in him to have him as a potential number 1 pick because I don't see anything that warranted him being picked up at 1; I wouldn't even take him as a third round selection.
Too slow, not a great mark, average kick, no awareness......what are people seeing that I cannot?? I remember looking at footage of him before the draft and thinking there's nothing special there.
Paddy seems like a really nice kid and I hope to God that I'm wrong but I am really worried.

Re: Paddy
No where near fit and doesnt have a AFL prepared rig. Very poor almost looked like he was frightened of being hurt, no intensity to his game at all. Was poor under the ball couldnt hold his ground and an absolute liability on turnover. IMO he shows nothing of what he was drafted for and will go down in the ever growing list of St Kilda's failed draft picks.

I just see nothing at all.
His draft highlights were even average.

Re: Paddy
Agree what a waste of a No 1 draft pick completely inexcusable by the Elshaugh and the club. Now we will be like Melbourne were with Watts and.continue to play him because they are too embarrassed to admit they f.....d up.Con Gorozidis wrote:Tend to agree.silverhalo wrote:I'm calling it now that Paddy won't make the grade at this level. Here is a big call, Paddys younger brother Tom will play a handfull of games for Sydney this year and kick more goals for the season than Paddy.

Re: Paddy
Plus one. To quote Lethal Leigh when talking about Jack Watts, " I haven't seen anything in this kid that would warrant taking him as a number one pick." I thought the same the first time I saw Paddy. I couldn't see what the hype about him was, although he did look handy. Go back and look at his U/18 YouTube highlights. Good, but not great. Nothing there that would warrant a number one pick being used on him. To rub it in, Petracca is already performing at a high level and will only get better.SaintPav wrote:Petracca in the forward line with short bursts in the midfield would have been nice.

Like many, I was hoping, rather than believing in Paddy. I really hope he proves us doubters wrong. He needs to if we are going to succeed in the medium to long term. Somehow, I don't think it's going to happen and I'm not basing that just on one poor game today. Most of his games have been poor and he's hardly shown a thing up to now, his fourth year. Not athletic, not quick, no endurance and an average kick for goal at best. Four preseasons in and he's still struggling with his running. He should be flying by now.

Richo in his press conference confirmed how Tony Elshaug was the driver behind Paddy’s recruitment. Paddy is selfless.
