Starting 22 2018 what we'll see/ what you'd like to see.

Post: # 1710954Post stkfc1 »

What we'll see (IMO)
Back : Geary Brown Roberton
HB: Newnes Carlisle Gilbert
Centre : Savage Ross Sinclair
HF : Billings Bruce Acres
FF : Membrey McCartin Gresham
R/Rovers Longer Steven Steele
Inter: Dunstan Weller White Stevens/Armo
To me this team is too slow. Although a fit Steven and Mav and Savage losing weight will help.

What Id like to see
Backs: Geary Brown White
HB: Roberton Carlisle Savage
Centre: Bruce Ross Sinclair
HF: Billings Membrey Acres
FF Battle McCartin Gresham
Followers Longer Steven Dunstan
Inter: Stevens Marshall Connellan Coffield
Id like to see Bruce up the ground more. Especially for a marking option at kick ins which we suck at. He's got a tank and is a nice field kick also.
Probably too much inexperience at once for opening round but Id like the team to look something like this later in the year with a few backman vying for Browns spot. I have a feeling about Connellan. His pace is next level and we're desperate for some. Need to get games into White, Marshall, Battle and Coffield as priority.

Agreed, stkfc1. I really like your second team, but I suspect we'll get the first. I'd love to see Clark, Coffield, Battle, White and Long in there. Marshall as the first ruckman as well. Show a bit of dash, Richo.

White's my bolter. I really believe the boy can play. Dunstan and Coffield for McKenzie and Stevens for me, Spinner. Good looking team, though. I feel a little bit confident looking at that.

Don't think he will make Rd 1 but word received is that Bailey Rice has been impressive this summer.

My preferred team for round one assuming everyone is available. Bold players are locks/players I think would comfortably fit into any finals side. The rest could easily be overtaken or replaced.

B: Webster, Brown, Geary
HB: Savage, Carlisle, Roberton
C: Acres, Ross, Sinclair
HF: Billings, Bruce, Weller
F: Gresham, McCartin, Membrey

Foll: Longer, Steven, Steele
Int: Newnes, Dunstan, Gilbert, Armitage

Emg: Hickey, Stevens, Austin

White is right! And you are right again Mr Huggins! Believe me! White is my great friend Andrew Bolter's favourite player! And David Duke's too. He will be very happy about this too when I tell him, very happy, believe me. David Dupe, he no longer posts on here. No longer posts. In protest. Ever since his favourite poster White Winmar was driven out. Which is disgraceful! Disgraceful, believe me! Driven out by a Mexican rapist cartel funded PC-crap left wing lynch mob. Can you believe that??? David Dufus hates that sort of lynch mob! He knows that 'left wing lynch mob' to be an oxygen moron. And nobody knows about oxygen and morons, like David Dyke, believe me. #makingwhitetheblackgrateagain

Whisper is Coffield is playing Rd 1. There might be another sneaky suprise also but they have played seniors already.

Webster belongs in the team.

I have been critical of Mav but only because he should've stopped playing when injured until he was healed.
I want Mav in the mix.

We'll see how it pans out.

Big chance. It sounds like Hickey and Longer aren't travelling too well atm.

What is more interesting is the 3rd big man selection for the forward line. If fit, Membrey and Bruce are in the starting 18 so it could be a "battle"-haha, between Battle and McCartin for that 3rd spot.

Love that side. A stack of pace.
If we played say Richmond with only Jack R as a tall in the fwd line - we culd go even quicker and bring in Paton for Clavarino.
You coujld even sneak Long in for Armo.

After what we've seen so far this is how I would pick the team to line up in round one

B: Geary, Austin, Roberton
HB: Savage, Carlisle, Newnes
C: Sinclair, Armitage, Acres
HF: Billings, Bruce, Clark
F: Gresham, McCartin, Membrey

Foll: Longer, Steven, Ross
Int: Dunstan, Steele, Weller, Gilbert

Weller and Gilbert very lucky but none of the other kids have shown that they are ready. I want to see Austin get first crack since Brown is slowing down and we might as well see if our new young recruit can be an option going forward; if he fails then Goddard gets a turn and if he fails again then Brown can be brought back as a stopgap until someone develops/we recruit someone better. I haven't been impressed with Webster since early last year and think he should have to find form in the VFL - Newnes isn't damaging enough on a wing but is solid defensively so I would like to see him played at half back for now. Coffield got involved plenty but was a bit off the pace at times, particularly defensively so he needs to build before he gets his chance as well. I hope Armo's body holds up and if it doesn't then Stevens replaces him.

Agree on Acres taking the wing, but Newnes going to a half back flank I'm not so strong on - just doesn't have the kick on him - could see a lot of turnovers off his boot. Mind you we get that with Gilbert already. I'd take Lonie over Weller, and Brown over Austin for now - just haven't seen Austin to know, but Brown has done nohing wrong.
