Dysfunctional forward line. That last play typifies us, can't mark the ball in the forward 50, and the opposition sweeos it out and scores. We need a new game plan, actually we need a game plan because there doesn't appear to be one.

If your happy with that ...call it a meltdown. You would think after 6 months off they could dish out a bit more than that.

Ball use, both skill wise and judgement wise with both hand and foot remains our BIGGEST problem.

It is THE problem.

It gives the opposition more of the ball than they should have. It denies us goals.

If we cannot turn this problem around no way we will make the 8.

Not a great effort if we are hoping to attract new members- look like a pack of drunks running around in a country match, not a team who are promising big things.

Too many times we pushed ourj forwards up the ground and when we got the ball we had no targets in our 50. Back to long bombs in

Here's my problem. I am not seeing anything new. What I am seeing is the same old same old. The same failed game plan, that's if there actually is one because I can't see it. Why isn't Marshall playing? Surely that's a better idea than Gilbert in the 2nd ruck, or Bruce when tje season starts. There's very little creativity in our midfield which probably compounds our inability to score. They had all summer and right now, I am seeing nothing to show they did anything.

Glad you see the light brother. :) Our team has mediocre skills and it's pretty hard to watch a team that we used to clobber improve so much and play so much better.

Plus, why play the damn game at a ground with sub standard lighting when surely Etihad was available.

That’s tops for us.
Wait till Roo get back in the game.
I did post a thread about our lack of physical preparation and inability to run out games last year, and for the season and was roundly howled down by the usual experts on here. Happening again. Hornsby f***ed Richmond for years and is doing the same to us. Stick your head in the sand if you will, but we look underdone. AGAIN. If you're not fit at this stage, you're way behind the eight ball. Richmond ditched Hornsby. Look at the result. We picked up someone else's rubbish because that's what we can afford and what we do as a club. Spud's good mate. The very reason for picking him up. Still, our coach, Mr. Vanilla thinks it's all positive and pleasing. I don't care if we come back and beat them. It's Carlton. They're s*** and will likely be in the bottom six again. Somewhere ahead of us. But we can console ourselves with the fact we're stable and have signed the milky bar kid for a few more years, ensuring we languish in irrelevance. Pleasing. Positive. The emperor has no clothes. Runs a good electrical supplies store, though.

"Is this the right room for an argument?"
"I told you once."
"No, you didn't."
"Yes, I did."
"Listen, an argument isn't just the automatic gainsaying of anything the other person says, it's a series of statements designed to support a particular conclusion."
"No, it isn't."
"Oh, I've had enough of this."
"No you haven't"
"Oh shut up."

Yep, same old same old, as I said. Struggling to see upside in this group of players.

I saw your post last year and fully agreed. I took it further in another post - to be fair we had played a miserable game and so was crying like a b!tch - I said then and will say it now. Richo is like that good bloke you can count on every week to rock up wearing the same stained shirt and tatty jeans, but he puts in a decent effort and gets his hands dirty. But you know if it’s on - you have to smash out an impossible job you can’t call him in because he’s a reliable type not a friggin animal who will eat people alive and fight all night.

He’s a nice guy...and like Alice said ...no more

Seriously, Gilbert's disposal is sub VFL level. It isn't enough to try ffs. He is not our future and continuing to play him, watching him butchering the ball year after year is one of the many problems this team structure has. He is a senior player who has had 10 plus years of opportunity to improve his foot skills in some damn way and he can't. Would be demoralizing for the young players to see him constantly turn over the ball!
