Saints lucky to finish 10th.
If we have some youth that turn it on then we could finish 8 but i doubt it. More chance of finishing 12

Hard to disagree, SP, if we're talking a wish list. Like you the filth has risen up my ladder, while I can't imagine a better outcome than the dopers and scum doing the 17th and 18th quinella. I'd love to see the Tigers finish ninth again. Scadenfreude, I know, but it is good fun.SaintPav wrote:9. Melbourne

Was thinking of having a cheeky punt on Port for the flag...
Shocked to see them rated so low here.

Re: Pick your top 8.
They may do ok, skeptic. SP's ladder is a wish list. I think they'll make the eight, but their bargain basement shopping spree will end as most do. Lots of presses to show, but not many that are any good, or that anyone else drags out with pride, Rockliff excluded. They're a classic GO side.

Re: Pick your top 8.
Simply cannot make the case for the Saints to finish 6th or above.
Possibly make the case we can jag a spot in the eight - good draw, one or two teams slip up.
But we're still one of the bottom four when it comes to A-Grade players and I'm not sure we have the frenetic unity that spurred Richmond onto such great heights last year.
Sydney
GWS
Adelaide
Geelong
----big gap----
Melbourne
Western Bulldogs
Richmond
Port Adelaide
-----smaller gap--
Essendon
I've got us in 10th.

Re: Pick your top 8.
A good start to this season could ignite anything (as opposed to last year). Don't underestimate how the fallout from 'that' Carlton game affected us either...especially with the clubs response!
I would like to think that there will be some surprises from the Saints this year, and with some injury luck we could finish anywhere (not forgetting there were some pretty special performances too).
Those of us that were at the early games last year will realise we got caught out unfit and underprepared, and I see that the club hasn't left that stone unturned (at least have attempted to).
So Saints inside the eight for me and who cares about the rest

Geez, you're being very gracious of Melbourne and their supporters...I'd have that pile of deadwood at 19th! Mind you, the last two clubs I've laughed at and said "I may follow the Saints, but thank Ke-riste I don't barrack for those losers" have won consecutive premierships!SaintPav wrote:Correct.Drake Huggins wrote: SP's ladder is a wish list.

I thought more 'overhyped' and 'overrated'...we were still flopping around, listlessly hoping for games to fall our way at the end of the season...so you're dead right about getting off to a good start!barneyboyz wrote:Those of us that were at the early games last year will realise we got caught out unfit and underprepared...

Re: Pick your top 8.
Even underprepared mentally??? Our mids were watching oppos running past with the footy, and we panicked when the previous years tactics of pressure just didn't work. Yep, over hyped sounds about right. I hope that's not a hole we are starting to jump in a bit atm.degruch wrote:Geez, you're being very gracious of Melbourne and their supporters...I'd have that pile of deadwood at 19th! As a club I hope we can just get the head space right, as an Essendon, Hawthorn or even (now) Geelong seem to be able to do when required

Re: Pick your top 8.
OK - Five wins and bottom three. As far the top 8 is concerned - it's of zero concern, not something I would have said before 2009/10, which has sapped almost all the goodwill for the game from my weary bones. The Fireman wrote:it's sobering and good to see that some here have removed the rose coloured glasses ....that's healthy .. reality is the way to go...This club is one of the oldest with the worst performance(flags)..time to get real.
