I just don’t get the Bonar hype.

I’m not opposed to taking him but he’s consistently rated outside the top 12 sometimes 15 not because of injury concerns but due to the fact that that many more players have consistently played better football then him.

He’s the very definition of a risk... draft a player based on the fact that he has shown less than everyone else of the same experience with the hope that he will show more... just don’t want make sense to me

I don't think porridge is a normal West Indian staple, however)

Forgive the capitals and the fact that at least one poster has already made the point but the very strong likelihood is that Stephenson SIMPLY WON"T BE THERE AT PICK 7.
There is just so much wish fulfillment in draft projections. For example now that North Melbourne have done absolutely everything they can to let the world know that they will not be taking Fogarty, for some reason, there is a suggestion that Collingwood will take Fogarty. There is no objective basis for this at all. Stephenson's manager Paul Connors, his TAC coaches and even his mum have appeared at Collingwood or with their denizens in the past few days. If he's there at 6 Collingwood will probably pick him up. 'Probably',because as I know a little but not everything I'm happy to admit that, today, Collingwood may receive information suggesting that Stephenson may not be able to play without medication which could inhibit his training. Doubtless Coffield will come into consideration in that case.

And probably not...
Higgins - very very tough on the bloke I know, but he's just too small. Would end up another Lonie. (And yep, I know he's actually bigger than Lonie.) The trend is towards bigger, stronger mids, and that makes sense to me.

Too small mate, really?? I know you can google short afl players etc and find out that at 178cm he is far from the smallest. And calling him Lonie, well that's just mean. He has the best stats of all draftees and is so professional already. He will work harder than any other draftee to make it and make it he will. Draft an outside mid with the other pick, hopefully a slider, and play him as a small forward. I'll go one further give him #44 (Mav can get another number). Imagine seeing that number snapping goals again

And FYI Milne was only 176cm tall

hmmmm.

Bonar is a monster. Dead set he looks like he could make Nat Fyfe look like a weakling after a couple of years in the AFL system.
Two...TWO ACL's at that age is no minor issue. Massive risk. No doubt he would be a #1 prospect however if he didn't have that cloud hanging over him. Will get senior footy in his first season IMO.

Coffield can kick and he is pretty clean. When I say he can kick I mean he is a gun by foot.

Hunter Clark could be a big bodied mid much like Acres but with much, much more inside ability.

I cant see either of them playing senior AFL in 2018

happy with this, only query I have is Coffield's contested side
but big ticks for pace, height, versatility, evasion, smarts and kicking

Clark am very happy with, by all reports transitioned well into midfield in second half of year
tough, good mover and good dual sided kick

we don't need to gamble - let's see if it happens....

Clearly jaxons had inside mail.
Clearly CT had the same inside mail.
Credit to both.

I am the only bloke on here actually pleased with our picks.

perhaps Jaxons and CT
have adjoining offices or cubicles (not the loo type!!)
at Seaford.

Or they get together over the water cooler
or in the staff kitchen
any time someone brings in some tuna for lunch and sticks it in the cupboard, these 2 chuck it in the bin
because anything fishy has to be purged.
Due to ill-feeling over that Trout person.

Coffield vision looks really good, excellent skills and vision and keeps his feet in a tackle.
Not 100% sold on Clarke, disposal looked a bit sloppy but will see how he goes in action.

Two hugely promising players.
But I would have liked to have taken Bonar
Hunter Clarke and Aiden Bonar -- mates from Stingrays -- would have been a brilliant and dynamic story. and eventual midfield.
Would have been more to Jaxon's liking too.
Thanks for the heads-up Jaxons!
Love your work. Welcome back.

Yeah that first vid I posted wasn’t great but check out the other 2... not as bad as u might think.

I don’t think he’s elite with his disposal (as in eye of the needle) but more the type that picks good options and generally kicks it to his team mates advantage

Clark is a god darn star in my eyes.

Smooth mover.

Im pleased with that we got. Both these two lads are oozing class, composure and pace and can kick it. Exactly what we want.

What are you on about Con? Twoomey didn't pick either of those two at 7 and 8.

Twomey's late mail draft was spot on for pick 7 and 8.

Callum Twomey's 2017 Phantom Draft

Callum Twomey November 22, 2017 7:40 PM

http://www.afl.com.au/news/2017-11-22/c ... ntom-draft
It is a little confusing because he does a 'ranking' and then he does his phantom draft two days before the draft.
