In Springfield, they're eating the dogs. The people that came in, they're eating the cats. They’re eating – they are eating the pets of the people that live there.

Not sad really ...he is worth a look.dragit wrote:Yuk, would rather re-draft tom lee than tom lamb... sentimental family ties to the 66 team is possibly the worst reason to draft a player I could think of. Really sad stuff.

There was a rumour (I am starting it) Lamb shanked his efforts in the West so he could get to St.Kilda.

Re: Invited To train
This is my thinking as well CQ Saint. I firmly believe that there are players who are drafted away from their home state who completely lack commitment to the team that picks them up, in the hope that eventually they will be delisted.CQ SAINT wrote:There was a rumour (I am starting it) Lamb shanked his efforts in the West so he could get to St.Kilda.

Tom Lamb was drafted from Dandenong Stingrays and before the draft was rated in top 20. His ancestral links with the Saints will prove to be a powerful incentive for him to train the house down, as evident from his winning the 1km time trial last week.
I hope he is picked up to fill one of the rookie spots, and look forward to us getting a ready made player discarded by another team for a change, he could well do a "Tom Lynch" for the Saints.

Delisted on purpose ?
Are you are suggesting a case of the lamb weaning himself from the mother club rather than them having cutting off his milk supply (ie AFL games) ?
.....sorry couldn't resist!!

Eagles have a relatively settled forward line, and it would have been hard to break into the team which probably stifled his development. If he gets another’s chance, he could be a useful pick up for us.

I wouldn't get my hopes up too much with Lamb, not saying he can't make it but the form line isn't greatsaintwill66 wrote:This is my thinking as well CQ Saint. he slid pretty far in his draft year, good talent but inconsistent and some poor on field attitude apparently
A lot of clubs passed on him in 2014, two years in a pro system and he got delisted...
Re-read Knightmare's assessment on bigfooty - some snippets from Weaknesses section
full write up here - https://www.bigfooty.com/forum/threads/ ... t.1060197/ - search for Lamb in the page
"Decision making ability – Lamb with ball in hand is prone to making poor, rushed decisions by hand and foot lacking composure"
"Inconsistent – From game to game Lamb does not always bring the same effort and intent at the contest as a result from game to game has mixed and inconsistent results."
"Intensity – Lamb often lacks intensity to his game and can at times lack that intent to go for and win the contested ball. He is capable of winning the contested ball and his contested ball winning numbers are reasonably good, but he can at times pick and choose when he goes and he does not always bring the physical presence around the contest that he at his height should."
"Work by hand – Lamb by hand while he has improved as the season has progressed he is still very poor and sloppy with his work by hand, rarely connecting sweetly with the ball. He can often miss his targets by hand and when rushed or under pressure will often miss targets by hand altogether, just lacking that bit of composure."
he has always had excellent endurance (15+ beep), so winning the 1km time trial doesn't mean much
has his attitude improved, has being delisted given him a big kick up the arse? How long will that last?
is he desperate to improve and keep improving like the best players?
