Doh,Ii didn't get to say I didn't know Quayle was working with GWS now.
More help for GWS !
I think I heard it's the first time in 16 years or so that the Saints have 2 picks in the top 10.
Hope to blazes we use them wisely.
Go Saints.

I would be absolutely stoked if we drafted Bradshaw and cerra, it's probably unlikely the both make it to us, but they will be great players in the future

Bonar was the best player by far. We can get him cheap very cheap
Coffield and Cerra is the dream result for us. No doubt.

Some are saying this guy who is the first indigenous prefect at Scotch College.
Personally, I think we don't need any more backs.
St Kilda (Picks 7 and 8)
The Saints have got a few who can run and carry the ball out of the back 50, but now need a classy small defender with composure and leadership capabilities. Enter Ranges backman Joel Garner, who oozes all of the aforementioned. Garner captained Vic Metro to the Under 18 national title last month and has carried on his good form into school footy. A lot of Luke Hodge about him.

Re: 2017 Draft. Picks 7,8- who do you want?
We just need to take 2 really good ones at 7 and 8
Brayshaw and Coffileld will do nicely
Idon't want to hear :
"Gee the Saints have sprung a bit of a surprise picking "...player X..." at number 8, most of us had him going in the 20's"
followed by the usual rubbish from our draft team:
" we really rate "...player x..." and we just felt we had to pounce on him"
We can get experimental with later picks.

what a dumb thing to say.parkeysainter wrote:Whisper is we're taking Brayshaw.
Does that mean we rate him number one?
Or we are positive the six sides ahead of us don't rate him?
People r only keen on Brayshaw because it is a name they recognise.
He seems like an Elshaugh pick though. Vanilla and Elshaugh can say he 'comes from a good family' and has 'good character'.
Ill throw up if he says that.

Vanilla? I’m sorry. Are you basing the judgement on how good a player is by his name?Con Gorozidis wrote:what a dumb thing to say.parkeysainter wrote:Whisper is we're taking Brayshaw.

Have you seen his stats from the combine? He is quick, and has a tank for endurance. He won the yo yo test at the nationals, and came 3rd in the 2km time trial. Also, he is classy. Which is what everyone has been screaming for at the saints. Quick and classy. Outside mid to start with. Possibly versatile to be inside and outside midfielder. Why would we not want that?

Re: 2017 Draft. Picks 7,8- who do you want?
Are you basing this judgement off of people’s phantom drafts pre-combine? Of course they hadn’t picked him back then. No one was sure wether he could cope, and then he proved he has recovered from his knee issues.saynta wrote:Bonar is not a top 10 pick ffs.SMS wrote:PICK 7 COFFIELD or BONAR

He equaled the all time vertical leap record (89cm, 2nd place got 82cm) and he was the second best 20m sprint of 2.90 seconds. Plus top 10 agility test. All these tests show how athletically gifted he is, considering he has just come back from 2 acl surgeries.
Does anyone remember how Clayton Oliver was a ‘draft bolter’ When he was picked by the demons? He is one of the best players under 22, and climbing up there to be among the best there is in the game. This is how I look at Bonar.

Re: 2017 Draft. Picks 7,8- who do you want?
have too many handball first midfielders in the side anyway. not damaging with the ball either. would take Cerra and Coffield over him in a heartbeat. The only thing i would ask is do we need another dwarf in the side? almost a quarter of our list is 183-84cm and below. i understand the argument between talent over height but its gonna make it tough when every other midfield comes to down and we are inches shorter and kilos lighter.diddley wrote:Vanilla? we will rate Brayshaw highly I am sure, but it is because he is a gun. Hopefully he falls to us but it is more than likely he will be off the board by thenCon Gorozidis wrote:what a dumb thing to say.parkeysainter wrote:Whisper is we're taking Brayshaw.

You start your sentences with 'whisper is' which is a big SIGNAL that you are itk.
Trouble is all your 'whispers' dont pan out. You said Tomlinson was a lock when it was never even in play at all. I have it on personal authority he was never interested in us.
And noone at the Saints would say 'we're taking Brayshaw'. They would say 'IF HE STILL THERE we will take Brayshaw'.

The only thing I can add is my amazement that so many people who wouldn't know how to check the oil in their car know exactly how good young footballers they, likely have never seen play will be. Seems not all dipsticks are found under the bonnet!

In regards to Bradshaw, I read from one of the more respected talent watchers on big footy that his only real weakness is he isn't that versatile
