The AFL is so corrupt.
Pick 19 for Motlop so the Cats can get Ablett.
Sentimental decision.

Agree 100% Con - it is not right. The AFL do what they like - so Motlop is valued the same as Buddy.Con Gorozidis wrote:The AFL is so corrupt.

What did we get for Dal? Pick 25 or something, IIRC? Motflop better than Dal? Only in the peculiar universe, the AFL inhabits.

Re: Jaxons come on down (2017/18 thread)
It is worth considering the number of highly payed over 25's who have just retired or been delisted. There is a fair chance this has had a significant impact on the top 15% earners. It seems just over 500k plus additional service agreement payments has put Motlop in that category.
At an asking price of 700k Lever would have been the highest paid Crow, so who knows what the threshold for an end of first round pick has become particulary with so many champions leaving the game all at once. Veteran concessions dont count here. Its not the salary cap.

Due to nothing happening yet this year, I was just wondering who we got in the trade period last year and the year before? Was it Steele, Stevens and Brown (or was he a delisted free agent) and Carlisle the year before?
As ex-president Peter Summers said:

Forget those two early picks we need action at the other end.Rocket wrote:Have we shut up shop? No rumours .... we could be all out before we started.

We have cleared the list to allow 3 picks at the draft but that could be varied by delisting Holmes or promoting Marshall.
Everyone else has been re-signed
But we have 5 picks with points attached
Picks 7 = 1644
Pick 8 =1551
Pick 45 = 347
Pick 59 = 158
Pick 63 = 112
We need action to package those last 3 picks into one
347 + 158 +112 = 617 points between pick 30 & 31.
Say we lose a few points in the deal they still get us a late second round pick if bundled.
Finding someone to do the deal a bit harder but I know Ameet can do it.

It's exactly like that, ps, except for the fish and chips. Lots of squawking and shrieking, but nothing to offer us desperate seagulls. Come on itk's! This is the time of year when legends are made or lost!parkeysainter wrote:This joint is like seagulls and fish and chips at the beach.

Re: Jaxons come on down (2017/18 thread)
It sound like we like Haynes or Tomlison, but that GWS will not budge at the trade price that we could offer.
Plus that Mummy being forced out due to injuries will ease their salary cap squeeze making it so GWS does not have to squeeze out an extra player now.
