Not correct at all.
We have interest in Tomlinson but won’t be using pick 7 or 8 on him.
Collingwood also in to him in a big way.
We are also exploring a young backman from Port.
Happy with this,be very happy with the picks, but get the feeling something is brewing

Thanks Jaxons :)

Are the Saints playing smoke and mirrors?

Leaking information about targeting player x but really we're focused on player z?

"A young backman from Port"?
I can see 5 or 6 that would fit that description -- and I'd be excited to get any one of them!
GO SAINTS!
.... price paid could dampen excitement, of course.

Logan Austin is uncontracted according to footywire where as Howard would be harder to get with 2 years to go; especially seeing Trengove has gone.

At 22 with improving SANFL experience, he looks likely as a developing key defender with good closing speed. He is reported as being a strong leader, capable one on one defender, athletic and has good rebounding attributes. At 196 and 92 kg he could be handy.

Hasn't set the world on fire in his 13 games but has apparently had negating roles and was serviceable but was set back by injury in late 2016.

Would be cheap and suits our development needs.

Seriously if you do not like what he posts ignore it? Whoever Jaxsons is has a good track record.

For all you know it might be a player going back the other way.

Would rather read what what Jaxsons post over some of the absolute clueless crap you have posted over the last five years, really hope your user name is not your real name as if it is I might ignore my Maltese blood names and ask my relatives to change their surname.

By the way pretty good guesses when on more than one occasion information has been passed up before it has hit the media .

I usually try and take my own advice and ignore things I don't like but you are and a few others are really starting to give the Jimmy Brits.

Austin would be great back-up for NJB
as well as Goddard, who some say is slow
and turns like a B-Double semi-trailer.
We have nobody in the Zebs if NJB, or
Jake (shudder) gets hurt or suspended (Jake is a star)
Austin would be valuable due to youth and cheap salary
and upward trajectory.
Thanks Jaxons for the info

I remember Haynes from GWS was a big chance...what happened with him?

I would be really happy if we to picked up Austin (not for picks 7 or 8, etc etc)

Thank you for info on current possibilities Jaxons.
Not holding you to it, like some.

They're best mates, but Jack Steele admits there's one disappointment about he and Logan Austin being drafted into the AFL - they won't be teammates anymore.

Thanks for posting the article, he is the cousin of Dempster as well.

According to champion data he recorded the most spoils ever recorded by a player in his first eight games, looks like he offers nothing attacking though.

In his first season he kept Ton J Lynch, Jesse Hogan, Ty Vickery, Travis Cloke and Drew Petrie goalless.

From what I have read he is contracted for another year at Port

Never even heard of him. Then again, never heard of Bruce and Membrey either before the Saints recruited them and they turned out great. I'm sure the recruiters are all over it.

I remember reading on here that Hayne from GWS was likely too. Guess that has disappeared.

the strategy is pretty clear.
We still feel we are one KPD short having lost Dempster and with Coughlan delisted

Yet we dont want to pay pick 7/8 for a KPD, we want to get quality young mids/running players and have good chances to get two of Brayshaw/Cerra/Coffield/Bonar (assuming Raynor, LDU, Dow, Stephenson all go before our us)

Draft for quality trade for needs they say...

So.. we have spoken to Talia but id say he will be plan E
So according to Jaxons we have sounded out Haynes, Tomlinson and Austin probably amongst others (always thought Finlayson was worth a look)

Bottom point, expect a KPD to come in next week

Has the Canberra Times lost all its sub-editors too? "he and Logan", not "him and Logan"??
The test is how you'd read it without "Logan" incidentally dropping in: "... there's one disappointment about he being drafted ..." OR "... there's one disappointment about him being drafted ...".
Everyone knows what's right when they think about it.
Just a bugbear.

Excellent thanks jaxons.
Was gonna say no way is tomlinson worth first round
So many options anything could happen over next 6 weeks. Exciting.
7,8 - Bonar, Stephenson
Tomlinson for Hickey, Lonie
Austin for 3rd Round

I could live with that

GWS need a ruckman and Hickey has been mentioned in the HS analysis.
Jaxons says that we don't want to give away picks 7 & 8 for Tomlinson and we have not made a decision on Holmes just yet so maybe we are looking to trade Hickey in the deal.
