Would love for their 'drug settlements' to be transparent and on the public record.
The cynic in me suspects they have probably paid their players a very tidy sum as drug compensation, possibly in lieu of contract payments....think of it as a 'front end loaded contract'. Such a strategy would ensure they have ample salary cap available.
And the cynic in me suspects the AFL is desperate for Essendon to be successfull, as a result they are likely to be encouraging, even supporting this behaviour.

I can’t see how Essendon have sufficient draft picks to complete all three trades.

If they want them in, someone's going to have to exit...do they really need these players that bad? Surely Stringer is displacing Green, and Saad pushing for a spot against McGrath? Smith would be a good addition for them if his knees hold out, but they already have Fantasia in a similar role...how many FWD/MID's can you cram into one team?

Maybe it is the fairy tale ending - Wooden spooners last year - played finals this year - next year - maybe the big one!!!!!!
Forget the fact that they were wooden spooners because of the drug suspensions, and therefore got an armchair ride this year - expect them to come crashing back to middle of the pack in 2018

And why not? Essendon, together with Collingwood, are the most powerful clubs in the AFL. They generally get what they want – a favourable draw, minimum interstate games, the ANZAC game, the list goes on and on. Also, despite the past, they’re still a very rich club with a s..load of premiership cups on display.

They have been caught out more than any other club salary cap rorting... I smell something very very fishy. Dildo stuffs around so much to do clubs over can't see it all happening .. they would have to trade out some decent players to get it done Dildo doesn't come to the party until the last minute
