....but the Saints actually need to find a new small forward then that will make an impact.
I don't think they need another small forward.
Need to fix up the way they send the ball into the F50 first,
work on that.
We could have Peter Daicos in there and he would only get 3 touches per game.
Sheesh
+1
this draft needs to be about quality mids. We have an excess of mid range small forwards so one or two could either go or be used as steak knives in a trade.
I dont think Lonie is too bad, but we have replacements
unfortunately, we lacked courage not taking caleb daniels. now we're left with fingers crossed lonie works out. I'm torn. He is young. He does tear it up in the twos - and not just in a clint jones sort of way. With another preseason clear in his own mind what his deficiencies are... I think it could come down to how much work he's willing to put in. Comes across a bit arrogant to me - which might work for him later, but needs to earn it first.

Just hate to think what some of you would say if you didn't like a player or you barracked for an opposition club!
We would barely have a team left if some Saints fans had their way. Its all well and good to get rid of every underperforming, disappointing or injured player but they still need to be replaced and with better players to make it worthwhile.
Just saying...

The club obviously believes he's still worth a place on the list, but he's certainly on his last chance, or "probation", if he takes the one year deal. The kid has ability, but like many others on the list, he fell away badly in the last third of the year. He needs to get stronger and improve his running, but he's still very young. A one year contract seems a sensible compromise. You perform, you stay. You stink it up and you're delisted at the end of the contract. Nothing like playing for your career to get you motivated.

My thoughts exactly.
Means we can also trade him if anyone is interested.
Good move Saints.
Holder of unacceptable views and other thought crimes.

From memory the dogs took Daniel with the pick before ours.
He probably could have/should have gone earlier. His junior stuff was very strong.
"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

Maybe this thread could be locked as all it does is incite trolls and polarises people.
2020 was an aberration, when we travelled twice to Adelaide and won both, beat Tigers early, beat our bogey Swans. 2021 we've returned to our old ways. Damn
Lonie might still be traded. Contracts mean nothing anymore. If the right deal comes along, they'll take it. I hope the kid makes it, for us or anywhere else.
